Thor managed to get you and Loki back onto the jet in one piece. You took your seat next to Loki and laid your head on his shoulder. You folded your wings against your back and snuggled close, dead exhausted with your magic so drained. Loki wrapped his strong arms around you and cuddled you close, holding you safe in his arms. When you were both safe with the other, he rested his head on yours and you were both asleep in moments.
You slept the whole way back to the tower, desperately needing it after that exertion and battle.
"Who's going to wake them?" Stark asked when the jet landed. You were barely awake enough to hear them.
"Do you really want to get stabbed?" Bruce asked his science bro. Tony could be dumb for being such a genius.
"You know Loki will throw you off the roof of the building, Stark. He won't find it as fun as defenestrating you, but he'll take what he can get," Nat replied dryly. Stark was always finding himself defenestrated when he annoyed Loki too much. Which happened far too frequently. It was safe, though, as Jarvis had protocols to send a suit to rescue Stark when he went flying out the defenestration window.
You groaned and opened your eyes "I'm awake," you grumbled. There was no reason for Stark to get himself thrown off the tower for waking Loki when you could do it without nearly dying.
"Thank the Norns. I do not feel like getting stabbed today," Thor replied as you sat up.
You shook Loki gently. "Wake up, love. We're home," you told him gently, letting your magic wash over him so he wouldn't freak out when he woke. Loki didn't do well with waking up in strange places. He'd been tortured by Thanos and time had yet to ease those emotional scars. It was amazing that he'd been able to fall asleep on the jet. It just spoke to how comfortable he was now with the found family of the Avengers. When you first met him, he'd never have been able to fall asleep in front of them.
Well, in front of anyone but you. You'd always had a safe effect on the god. Your magic was Asgardian and had drawn Loki to you in the first place when you'd first met. You'd only grown closer together and that was before you found out that you're betrothed to him before you'd been born. You'd never known as your mom had escaped from a bandit attack when she was pregnant and ended up running through one of the secret portals to Midgard. She'd died and you'd grown up in foster care, not knowing that you were Asgardian until you'd met Loki.
Loki opened his emerald eyes and gave you a warm, loving smile, just as he always did. "We're home?" He asked, still groggy.
"Yes, back at the tower," you clarified. It did well to be specific with Loki, especially when he was this groggy and might think that you were back on Asgard. "The twins will be happy to see us," you added, hoping that might wake him faster.
Loki, indeed, woke much faster at that. He had to be awake to deal with the twins. They were too smart for their own good, magical, and had gotten far too much mischief from Loki. They were also adorable and you loved them both dearly. "I'm up," he said quickly and sat up properly.
You laughed at his reaction. "You have to be awake to manage those two," you agreed and kissed Loki softly. Which had Stark making retching noises in the background.
"Stark, I have no problem throwing you off the roof of the tower," Loki informed Tony dryly as he stood and offered you a hand to help you to your feet. You didn't need the help after the nap, but you appreciated Loki's manners and care all the same. Loki gave you a curious look and a familiar smirk. "I know there is an English word for throwing someone out of a window. It is a great word. Is there such a word for throwing someone off of a roof?"
You shook your head. "Regrettably, no. Though Peter would argue that 'yeet' works in that situation." Loki spoke perfect English thanks to the Allspeak. He was just teasing Stark with the questions.
"How about we don't yeet me off the roof? I want to check on Pep," Tony replied and sauntered off the jet to go check on Pepper. You and Loki followed right behind him. Wherever Pepper was, your children would be.
You found the three of them in the common room. Pepper was reading a story to the twins, one on either side of her, entranced by the tale. Your children both loved stories, a trait they'd inherited from their father, the god of stories.
They all looked over to you when you stepped off the elevator. "Mama! Papa!" The twins called and both teleported. You braced yourself to catch whichever twin teleported into your arms. Loki did the same next to you and you knew the same thought was crossing both of your minds: you had to get around to teaching the twins that they couldn't just teleport all over the place.
You expected that it would be Narvi who ended up in your arms. You weren't surprised by that. What did surprise you was that both twins teleported to you. They managed to teleport so that they were half in your arms, half in Loki's and it took some juggling not to drop them. You cuddled them both close and moved closer to Loki so he could wrap his arms around you too. "It's alright, sweetlings. We're back now and safe," you soothed the twins, feeling their nerves and anxieties.
"Everything is alright," Loki agreed and kissed both of their heads.
The twins soon relaxed and told you all about the story that Pepper was reading to them. Narvi insisted that Pepper's baby liked the story too, though there was no logical way for him to know that. You didn't doubt your magical child. You also had no idea what his obsession was with Pepper's unborn baby. It didn't seem harmful, but it was yet another thing for you to keep an eye on.
There were so many things when it came to magical mischievous children.
