You and Loki were both on your knees, staring at the spot where Hela had been. The entire court was staring at the spot where Hela had been. You couldn't blame them. You were all in shock. Hela had just thrown all of your lives into chaos. That was supposed to be Loki's thing. Apparently, it ran in the family.

You needed time to process what had happened, but time was one thing you didn't have, one thing you never seemed to have when you needed it. There was work to do. Emotions could come later. Emotions had to come later.

Loki understood that truth as well. He'd been training for this day for years. The time had finally come for him to officially take the throne. He got to his feet, shaky at first, but he steadied when his grip tightened on Gungnir. He knew his duty. He knew what needed to be done. He offered you a hand and helped you to your feet as he took in the scene around him, evaluating exactly what orders he needed to give to get the realm back in order.

He looked to Frigga first. "Mother, would you kindly escort Father to rest?" Loki would never order his mama around. That didn't mean his request was any less a command. He needed Odin to not be in the throne room. Odin had been stripped of his powers and authority. Loki needed a clear path to take charge of the realm.

Frigga had a proud look in her eyes as she inclined her head. "Of course, darling," she helped Odin to his feet and led him from the throne room. You assumed that she would take him to the healing wing first before settling him in their suite to rest. Being stripped of his powers likely had taken a toll on him. He still seemed dazed and uncomprehending. That was probably a good thing for the time being. He would cause fewer problems that way.

You saw the tension ease from Loki's shoulders when Odin was safely out of the room. That was one problem down. Loki turned to you and drew your attention back to Hugin and Munin. They desperately needed help and healing. You both saw it. /I hate to ask, darling. You deserve to be here.../ he told you telepathically. He wanted your rule to be equal, unlike how Odin and Frigga were.

/This needs to be done. I understand. We can change the realm later/ you reassured him in return. You were there for each other, just as you always had been. You both knew what needed to be done now. Those valkyrie needed your help.

/Thank you, witchling/ Loki said fondly, relief flooded through the connection that you were understanding and willing to do what was necessary. He gave the official request for you and Thor to take care of Hugin and Munin. Again, he would never order you around, but that didn't make the request any more an order.

You rushed to the valkyrie and checked them over. They would heal, but would definitely require a stay in the healing wing to recover. Thor picked up one of them and you got Hogun to pick the other one up and help you get them to the healing wing.

Loki officially took the throne while you were heading out. You looked up at him in all of his formal regal glory with pride in your eyes. He really was made to rule and would serve the realm well.
