"Okay everybody, we have a huge buyer coming from Australia, even bigger than Japan. So we need to ban together and get this thing absolutley perfect. Any questions?" One of my newer employees raised his hands and glanced through his papers quickly.
"So how long do we actually have to get this all done?" I nodded at him and looked back at Jordan. He knew the specific date, and I wasn't quite sure.
"Well the meeting is November 5 so we have roughly 2 months to complete it." There were soem gasps and I sighed. I placed my hand on my stomach, something I had startd doing when I became stressed.
"I know it's a short deadline but this is a huge case for this company and I believe that our staff can do it. So how about we split and get started on the figures and guidelines?" Nobody argued so I clapped my fingers together. "Okay, meeting adjourned." Everyone stood up and walked out of the conference room. When the room was empty except for me and Jordan, I plopped down in the chair and closed my eyes. I was so tired but this case was too important for me to be taking off days. I pushed myself up and walked to my office while Jordan silently followed me.
"Baby, if this is too much, please tell me." I waved him off started turning in my chair and absentmindedly staring out my window. Jordan stopped the chair and pulled it to face him and he kissed me quickly. "I can see you are distracted." He glanced at his watch. "So how about I call Louis up and let him finish his lunch break up here so you can destress?" I nodded and he picked up his phone and called Louis. Him and Louis had recently become good friends. Louis, Jordan, and Ashton hung out almost all the time now.
A couple minutes later, Louis came in my office and decided he would sit in my lap. I chuckled and wrapped my hands around his waist. "Hm how do you think Jordan would feel about this position?" I tightened my arms.
"He would think you are an utter idiot for sitting in a pregnant ladies lap." He rolled his eyes and continued to eat his sandwich on my desk while I chomped on a salad with chicken and bacon bits behind him. All of a sudden, my door flew open and Caroline came in. Her eyes were red rimmed and puffy, so I knew something as really wrong.
She paused when she saw Louis sitting on me, so I patted his back twice to tell him to get up. He did then I kissed his cheek and whispered to him to either go bother Jordan or finish up his break downstairs. He left and closed the door behind him. "Who was that?"
"That was Louis. He's my-"
"Oh is he the father?" I could see her getting excited, and I needed to shut that down quickly because I didnt need rumors saying I was sleeping with the newest security manager.
"No, he isn't. He's my best friend since diapers. He recently came back to town so I helped him out and gave im a job here."
"That's sweet. So whe do I get to meet mystery man?" She jocked and nudged me in the arm.
Never. But of course I couldnt say that.
"Soon. Be patient." She sighed. "So what had you bust into my office like that?" He smile slowly faded away and she dropped a magazine in front of me. It was an interview that Jordan had done about a week ago about his and Caroline's divorce. Now that the media knew he was single, we had to be careful doing stuff like going to the doctor's office and shopping. He was back into the media's spotlight.
Great. Note my strong sarcasm.
I scanned over the page and saw exactly what Caroline was so torn up over.
***Interview Starts
Interviewer: So I heard about the divorce, how are you feeling about it?
Jordan: Well, I am sad because I know I hurt Croline, but our marriage wasn't working and I knew it was time to end it.
