Life As A Backstabber

Chapter 17

Im gonna skip forward a couple months now :) Natalie and Jordan have just moved into a new house.

"I think everyone is gonna be here soon. Are you going to light up the grill now?" Jordan stood up and handed me Avery. Just as he stood up the bell rang and I got up to answer the door. 

"Hey Bunny." Louis kissed my cheek and then kissed Avery's cheek, causing him to grin a toothless grin. "Hey little man." He walked to the backyard where Jordan was. I saw Ashton's car pull into the driveway so I left the door open. 

"Hey Ash, who's this?" I smiled at the small woman who he was holding on to.

"Hey Lee, this is Ina. She's my girlfriend." I smiled at the shy woman and shook her hand. 

"Hello Ina, it's nice to meet you. Come on in to the backyard." We walked to the backyard and I sat back on the lawn chair while I watched my kids crawl around on a blanket. Ashton sat down next to me. "Does she know about Caroline?" I saw Aston shake his head from my periferal vision.

"I plan on telling her soon, but not yet. Carline is not a topic I want to bring up." I understood his feelings. Caroline had a meltdown, she freaked out in the office and started throwing things and cursing, so we had to fire her. We made sure she was still doing fine, but we had to limit contact. She was unexpected and we didnt want her around our kids like that.

"Hey you guys started the party without me?" I turned in horror and saw Caroline standing there, slurring her words.

"Caroline are you drunk?" Ashton looked pissed off. 

"What does it matter to you, Ashton? It's my body."

"And my baby. I swear to god if you hurt my child-" He was cut off by Jordan dragging him out and I looked over at Ina who looked betrayed and confused. I watched as Loius led Caroline somewhere and I walked over to my kids. I sat down on the blanket next to them and guestured for Ina to sit with me. 

"These are my kids, Aaron, Avery, and Lianna. They are my light and joy."

"They're beautiful but why are you telling me this?" Her voice was so light and delicate, so I could see why Ashton liked her. 

"Well Jordan is their father and he used to be married to that woman, Caroline. He left her for me and she was my best friend." She gasped a little. "I betrayed Caroline and when she found out she sought comfort in other places, one which was Ashton. She found out she was pregnant and now Ashton is just waiting for the child to be born, so he can fight for custody."

"Why wouldn't he just tell me?"

"He was going to. Before Caroline showed up." We sat there in silence a little moe before Jordan and Ashton came back out. Jordan sat behind me and spread his legs so that I was sitting comfortably in between them. He kissed up and down my neck. I sighed in content and gavehim more access. 

Remembering that there were babies and a strsnger sitting with us, I grabbed Jordan's hand to get is attention. "Later." That promise was good enough for him because he wrapped his arms around my waist and rested his head against my shoulder. 

Ashton held out his hand for Ina and they grabbed their stuff to leave. He turned back to me and went to say something but I just cut him off. "Go." He smiled then they left. After a few minutes of silence, Louis walked back in. 

"She's quiet, but not sleeping." I stood up. 

"Nat, what are you about to do?" I smiled in reassurance to Jordan. 

"Dont worry." I walkedto the guest room and threw the door open and saw Caroline there crying. Normally, I would ache to see her cry, but now I was pissed. "How dare you come over drunk while you are pregnant? Are you so selfish and stupid that you would risk the innocent life of a baby just because life didnt go your way?"

"You took everything from me." I shook my head. 

"No I didn't. I apologize for doing what I did with Jordan. It was wrong, but everything after that was you. YOU went out and slept with Ashton and got pregnant. YOU continually tried to pursue Jordan after him saying not to. YOU lost your job all by yourself and YOU decided to drink while pregnant. So don't blame anything on anybody but yourself." I started leaving the room. 

"I hate you." I continued to leave.

"And you disgust me." I went back outside to the see Aaron already sleeping and Avery really close. Jordan had already brought their play crib outside so I picked them up and put them in the crib. Lianna was still awake, so I handed her to Louis, who was already in love with Lianna. She had him wrapped around her little pinkie. 

Louis started bouncing Lianna and she started laughing before reaching to grab Loius' nose. "Can I just take her home? Just for a couple days?" I laughed at Louis and sat back down in the lawn chair while Jordan checked on the ribs and chicken on the grill.

"Well so much for a pre house warming party. I guess we will see how tomorrow goes when we invite all the neighbors over."

"Oh Bunny, it won't be that bad. Caroline won't be drunk, and everybody will be in love with your kids." I glanced over at my babies and realized that Jordan was standing by the crib watching them. 

At that point, I fell even more in love with him. 

"So when is the wedding" I sighed at that thought. Jordan's mom ha been taking over my wedding preperations and I was starting to get irritated. She took it upon herself to change the chairs I ordered, the menu cards and the vases that held my flowers and she was hinting at changing my flowers. 

"It's a mess. Jordan's mom is going overboard."

"So talk to her about it."

"But I want to get on her good side, and I dont want to ruin what little we have left."

"Yeah, but resenting her for the rest of your life because she ruined your wedding isnt going to help at all either." He had a point. 

"We'll see."
