Life As A Backstabber

Chapter 13

"You know we actually have to go int work today?" Jordan groaned and nuzzled his face more into my naked chest. "Everyone thinks I'm sick but you are supposed to be back from your 'birthday trip' last night." I said putting quotes around birthday trip. Jordan was going to take me to Italy, like I've always wanted but the doc told us to take it easy on traveling because of my pregnancy problems a couple weeks ago. 

"Love, I honestly just want to marry you then stay in this bed for the rest of our lives." I sighed and started to run my fingers through his hair as he rested his head on my bump. 

"I know, but we can't. Eventually we have to tell Caroline and the office and we need to take care of our babies. " Jordan groaned. 

"The only good thing about today is that I get to watch you show off your rock, your man gave you." He said giving me a huge smile. I laughed and brought my hand up to my face. I admired the rock on my finger and appreciated Jordan for getting a unique ring like he knew I would like. 

"I cant wait. I absolutley love this ring." I glanced over at my clock and saw we were already cutting time close. "But come on. Let's shower. You need to go to the guest shower or wait for me though. If we go at the same time, we wont get out of there today."

"You are quite right about that. I really just cant keep my hands off of my beautiful fiance."

"Fat not beautiful." I started to walk away but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me black to him. 

"You are the most gorgeous woman I've ever met and you are not fat at all. You are carrying our precious angels." His comment made me feel better and I kissed him before pulling away and walking into the bathroom, making sure to drop the towel and pick it up slowly in Jordan's face. I heard him groan and I chuckled before closing the bathroom door. 

I came back out and slipped on my maternity business pants and a orange flowly shirt. I winced when I felt one of the babies kick my rib, but I ignored it. I placed my hand on my stomach and waited for them to settle down before I started moving around again. When they finally settled back down, I grabbed my flats and went to the kitchen. 

My craving for this week happened to be froot loops, so I grabbed my mini box of cereal and started eating it dry. I was licking the crumbs off my fingers when Jordan came out fully dressed. "Let's get moving, Love." Jordan helped me out of the chair and we walked to his car. Our relationship was still quiet but we were less careful now. It didnt really matter. The media would find out eventually but I just hoped we were able to tell Caroline before the media got ahold of the story.

I plugged my phone into his car and started blasting the song 'The Big Bang' by Rock Mafia. He grinned at me as I bobbed my head to the music, but he didnt comment on it. When we pulled up to the building, I turned it off and waited for Jordan to park before I got out and made my way out of the garage. It was creepy. I waved at Louis in the lobby then we made our way to the elevator to go to our office. Jordan pressed the number on the elevator and I impatiently waited for the elevator to ding open. This pregnancy had me peeing every minute. I mean, imagine three babies pressing down on your bladder.

I got to our floor and went straight to the bathroom. I guess I chose the perfect time because while in there, Caroline walked in with another secretary we had on our floor. "I dont know how I feel, I know something weird is going on."

"What do you mean?" I paused to hear what she had to say. 

"Well Jordan has been acting weird. I mean I figured that he would react to at least one of my attempts to get him back, but he doesnt even flinch. Does being married for 3 years mean nothing to him?"

"Well, I read the magazine." The secretary answered uneasily. Why couldnt Caroline just back off?

"That magazine is a lie! There is no other woman, I know there isnt." She sounded so sure in herself I almost wanted to laugh, but I felt sort of bad. Caroline had been my friend for about as long as Jordan, but I love Jordan too much. She was so stuck on getting him back and I keep being so selfish and keeping this from her.
