Ah, Bai Shuyin knew this novel.
The title was "The Crown Prince and The Devious Tyrant King" with the most cliche plot ever. A fight to secure a place in the Female Lead's heart. The two characters; namely the protagonist and the villain, would fight tooth and nail for that.
The villain, someone who was filled with deep hatred about the world, found consolation in the Female Lead. He would do something so outrageous just to get her attention. And it was always the protagonist who stopped him and made the Female Lead fall in love with him.
The villain was someone unstoppable, he had an enormous magic power and the ability to shift into a dragon. The protagonist, however, depended on his extraordinary luck and intelligence.
With the help from the Female Lead, who was also a shifter, and a magical beast on his side, the villain was defeated and had a tragic end.
Bai Shuyin had almost become a fan of the novel. She liked how the protagonist wasn't someone who was overpowered and depended on strategy to win. There needed a lot of preparation before the battle instead of just diving in headfirst. He wasn't consumed by emotion and could think rationally about it.
What made Bai Shuyin throw this novel away was the Female Lead. The typical white lotus female lead. She despised the Female Lead so much. To Bai Shuyin, the Female Lead truly represented her name.
Rice bucket.
She was indecisive. She couldn't choose who she wanted to be with and played with their hearts, especially the villain. Her indecisiveness had triggered him to do the extreme!
Bai Shuyin was so close to flipping the table when she read through the novel. Eventually, fed up with the Main Female Lead's attitude, Bai Shuyin smacked the novel close and put an end towards the novel before she spat a mouth full of blood on it.
She didn't want to know how the story went anymore. Bai Shuyin wasn't even halfway through the novel when she stored it at the back of her bookshelf. The storyline was damn predictable to her.
But why did she have to transmigrate into this particular novel?!
"Yin Yin?"
Bai Shuyin's heart seized. A dirty hand reached towards the tattered, rag-like state of her clothes. Bai Shuyin raised her head, catching sight of the small little boy in front of her. Large twin black eyes stared back at her.
Bai Shuyin took in his appearance once again. Black hair and black eyes, chubby cheeks, a dimple, and a small diamond-shaped pendant hung from his neck.
Bai Shuyin was dumbstruck--
This boy was the future villain, Wang Heiyue! The devious tyrant king! How could such a cute little steamed bun become a tyrant?!
Bai Shuyin panicked. Her gear in her brain turned to find how far the plot had advanced and which part of the story was she in, but she couldn't recall any of it.
She had never read a part where the villain's background was introduced.
'Oh fuck!' Shuyin cursed, regretting her decision to stop reading this novel. The only thing mentioned briefly in the beginning of the novel was that the villain was once raised by his sister who then died--
What?
'You have got to be kidding me?!'
She couldn't be this said sister right?!
Shit! What crimes had she done to receive this kind of treatment? It's not like she ever did anything that offended the heavens. What's the use giving her another chance at life only to snatch it back from her?
What should she do now? Should she deviate from the plot? Could she escape the fate --stupid author-- determined for her? Should she--
"Yin Yin? Are you okay?"
Bai Shuyin snapped back to reality, she had been staying too long inside her head. A pair of watery black eyes peered at her. The bottom lip of the owner of these eyes were jutted out and wobbled slightly. In mere seconds, big fat droplets of tears pooled around the eyes.
"Eh-- Wai-- What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Shuyin asked, flustered.
Bai Shuyin was terrified.
"Because Yin Yin isn't answering me…!" The damp broke and the little boy burst out crying.
'Oh fuck! Is this really the villain?! The smart, intelligent, gorgeous, fanatically passionate freak?!'
Forget about changing the plot, she better calm this little steam bun down.
"Come here," Bai Shuyin waved him over and the boy had lunged over before she finished her sentence, sniffing and hiccupping.
"There, there," She soothed Wang Heiyue's small back, patting.
After a while, the sniffing had finally come to a stop and Wang Heiyue had fallen asleep while crying. Bai Shuyin made a move to pull Heiyue back but the little boy stuck onto her like an octopus.
She sighed. Petting his hair, she actually sympathized with this little villain. In the end, he was just a boy in need of warmth and kindness. The world was just too filthy for someone like him. It was no wonder he turned evil.
'Don't worry, little brother! Big sis here is going to flood you with all the love!'

The next time Bai Shuyin woke up, there were a few noises surrounding her. There were birds chirping outside and her chest felt light. She closed her eyes again and thought back of the events. Judging by the cheap and rusty wood, it appeared that she really did transmigrate. It wasn't a dream at all.
Her hand patted the thin mattress beside her. There was no one, but it still felt warm. It seemed the little octopus had just woken up. She had woken up breathlessly during the night because of him.
Her stomach grumbled loudly, god knew how long she had starved. Based on her observation, these skinny hands and tattered clothes, this sister's condition wasn't good.
Growling non stop, Shuyin listlessly rubbed her empty belly, wondering what she should do.
As if the little villain knew her hungry state, he came back with a few apples in his hands.
"Yin Yin! I picked apples for you!" Wang Heiyue flashed Bai Shuyin a toothy grin, a dimple appearing so deep that Bai Shuyin was sure she could swim in it. His dark inky eyes shined exceptionally bright.
Bai Shuyin cooed silently in her heart. 'How cute!'
Just where the hell did the story go wrong that made him into a villain?
