(Y/n) Pov

It was a sunny day in San Francisco. The wind blew from the sea and a light fishy smell mixed with sweet pastries rose in my nose. I briefly wrinkled my nose, however, do not let it spoil my mood. Enjoyable I stretched my face of the hot sun against while I strolled along the many food stalls. How I loved these days. Like every Saturday I had a date with my best friend Lizzie at Fisherman's Wharf. We both loved the sea and its inhabitants. The sea lions, how they lay on their fat bellies and let the sun beat down on their backs. The seagulls, how they hungrily waddled along the pier, looking for something edible, only to then soar high into the air again and occasionally get close to a few tourists. These found them then either cute and gave them something of their food or tried to scare them away with a loud "kush, kush", what the seagulls let however completely unimpressed.

Just as I was watching one of these futile attempts again and grinning to myself, I heard a voice that pulled me out of my thoughts. "(Y/n), (Y/n). Over here. Here I am." I turned around. A few stalls away, my friend Lizzie was standing and waving excitedly at me. She was wearing black jeans and a plain white blouse with a few ruffles. A pair of sunglasses, which I did not know yet, adorned her narrow face, which was covered with freckles. I knew she hated her freckles, but I thought they were cute.I started to grin and walked towards her. When I reached her, we hugged gentely.I briefly inhaled her scent. I loved this combination of flowers and something else that reminded me slightly of cinnamon. When we broke away from the hug, Lizzie took me by the shoulders, pushed me back a little and looked at me skeptically from top to bottom while raising an eyebrow. Confused, I looked at her and asked, "What?" Then she let me go and pushed her sunglasses with one hand a little further down on the tip of her nose, whereupon I could immediately see the sparkle in her eyes, which could not mean anything good. "Have you met someone?" she screeched excitedly and at the same time a little disappointed, because she was probably offended that I hadn't told her anything.

But what should I tell? Since my last relationship 2 years ago, which had gone thoroughly wrong, I had finished with the men in my life for now. Of course sometimes I had a small date, of which I had reported Lizzie also always diligently, however, had never developed from it more. Either they were arrogant assholes who were out exclusively for sex or they had the IQ of a 5 year old. No, I hadn't  met anyone.

"No Lizzie I had since exactly" I started but was then interrupted by Lizzie "34 days no a date. Yeah, right" she said disappointed that she was wrong. I was starting to get the feeling that Lizzie wanted me to find someone more than I did. She cared about me but she herself was single again too. After a three year relationship, she had broken up with her boyfriend after finding out that he was cheating on her. I could literally feel her pain at that time. She was my everything and it had broken my heart to see her suffer so much. So with the help of Lizzie's father, Matt, I convinced my parents to stay with her for a few weeks. My parents were not very enthusiastic about it at first. But after some good coaxing from Matt and the promise that he would look after me, they had finally allowed it. How I could get upset with them. I had been an adult for over a year now, and yet they were still insane about keeping an eye on me. I was only allowed to go to parties when Lizzie was there and had to be home by 12 o'clock at the latest. But now she was feeling better and I had moved back to my parents' house.

Suddenly Lizzie started talking again and pulled me out of my thoughts. Well, we'll find the right guy for you," she said and smiled at me. Quickly I returned the laughter before we ran together and without talking to each other to our favorite booth. Our Saturday was always very similar. We met at Fisherman's Wharf and the very first thing we did was get our much loved churos with extra chocolate sauce, just like this day. While we sat down on the pier with our food and dangled our legs, we exchanged a few words.

When we were done with that we decided to either walk to the park and lay in the grass or go shopping. This Saturday we decided to do the latter. So we got up and strolled relaxed to the mall. Once there, we were each allowed to choose a store to visit afterwards. Lizzie chose a shoe store today while I had my heart set on a small new store. First we went to the shoes. Stacks of shoe boxes piled up in front of us. Fascinated, I looked around. I quickly spotted a pair of leather boots that reached just above my ankles. I tried them on and presented myself to Lizzie. "Wow. You look great they will definitely be bought" she said and gave me a high five. A little later Lizzie came around the corner with a pair of comfortable looking Converse. I looked at them before nodding my head in approval and saying, "Perfect" She took them off again and we went to the checkout to pay.

Then we entered the small clothing store full of anticipation. "Awesome!" said Lizzie, who had entered the store shortly after me. Nodding I agreed with her. Everywhere hung leather jackets, tight pants, scarves, hats and much more. "Ahhhh look" Lizzie suddenly shouted and I flinched, startled. "What?" I answered, before I followed Lizzie's finger pointing. There hung a black leather jacket. Underneath was a dark blue top with some lace at the neckline, which hung slightly off the hanger." You have to try it on, it goes perfectly with your new shoes" she said, pointing to the bag I was holding in my hand. "Do you really think so?" I asked a little hesitantly. "Of course," she had persuaded me, I grabbed the outfit and ran into the locker room. When I stepped out again, ready changed, the eyes of my girlfriend widened. "Shit!" she exclaimed and looked at me. "What, so bad?" I inquired uncertainly. "Quite the opposite. You look hot af" Lizzie grinned at me and I couldn't help laughing. Shortly after, we both laughed so loudly that the saleswoman looked at us in confusion. She must have thought we were crazy. Strictly speaking, we were." So I'll take it?" I asked, though it was more of a rhetorical question. Nevertheless, my best friend got up without a word and walked to a rack of hats. She grabbed one and ran back to me and put it on. "So now you're complete," she giggled.,,Ok then I will  take the hat too." I said slightly amused and was about to go back into the dressing room to change and pay when Lizzie grabbed me by the arm. I looked at her questioningly, but she only gave me a look that was supposed to say something like, let me do it. Then she turned to the saleswoman. "Excuse me, miss. My friend here would like to buy this outfit. Would it be possible for her to wear it right away?" The saleswoman smiled at us and then said, "Of course, I'd just have to scan it in quickly," Lizzie thanked her politely before pulling me to the register. There the saleswoman took her reader and scanned everything. I paid and asked for a bag for my other clothes. I got it, but from a distance it looked more like a leather bag. I thanked them and scurried back to the locker room where I quickly packed my things into the bag. Then I put on the new shoes I had bought and I was complete.
