Flash Forward
"How are the classes at the hospital?" Draco sits down with a groan and sets his glass on the coffee table, bringing a hand up to rub his neck.
"Stressful. Are you sore?"
"Yeah, spent too long bent over a boiling cauldron today."
"Do you want me to try and fix it?" Harry asks, getting up and walking around the back of the sofa. "I'm getting pretty good at it."
Draco feels his heart race as Harry gently sets his hands on his shoulders. They touch each other all the time: a friendly hand on the arm, a hug in greeting, falling asleep together after a bad breakup, this shouldn't be weird, but for some reason it feels very...intimate.
But Draco wants that with Harry, as much as he tries to deny it to himself, so he says, "Sure, I'll try anything at this point."
Harry slides his hands over Draco's neck, down into the back of his shirt, his fingers warm against Draco's skin. Harry whispers a spell, and the pain in Draco's neck and shoulders...vanishes.
He gasps softly. "Harry, that's incredible!"
"It worked?" Harry beams and removes his hands, smoothing the back of Draco's shirt.
"The ache just faded away. Merlin. That's fantastic."
Harry comes back around the sofa to sit, smiling happily. "I'm just glad I'm getting the hang of it wandless. I think I'll be able to do it nonverbally soon, too."
"Stop, stop," Draco laughs, "you know power turns me on."
Draco could have sworn Harry's eyes darkened for a moment, but then he looks away and laughs lightly. "Sorry."
A moment passes, and then they start talking about Teddy's upcoming eleventh birthday, and the awkwardness dissipates.
