Harry quits the Auror Department a few days later without telling anyone why, but Draco knows why.

As persuasive as his own pleading may have been, it was nothing compared to listening to Teddy when he cried, curled up against Harry's side on the hospital bed.

"Please don't fight the bad guys anymore, Dad," Teddy had begged. "Please. I can't lose you, too."

Harry's eyes had filled with tears as they met Draco's from across the room, and he slowly nodded as they started to fall into Teddy's hair, where Harry's hand was slowly running over the temporarily-jet-black strands.

"Okay, Teddy, I'll stop. I promise."

And from the way he looks down at him, Draco knows that Harry would sooner die than break a promise to their little boy.
