Weeks turned into months and they were on there third month of being there. Both Miranda and Ben had official giving up hope. They rebuilt the sticks in the sand to just say help. They constantly had the fire going to attract planes but they still have not been found.

Ben's hair was in an afro state and his beard and mustache was grown out.

They'd spent so much time together they even had arguments

Miranda wanted to explore the other side of the island but Ben wanted her to stay put.

"Miranda. I just don't think we should go far. What if someone comes to rescue us and we miss it because we are exploring." Ben explained.

"Nobody said you would have to go Ben. I said me, I, this woman."

"You are not going." Ben said

Miranda scuffed. Nobody tells her what to do.

"Stop telling me what to do," she said right back. "And stop treating me like a child."

I'm just trying to keep us alive." He explained.

"Yea, but now you're not living," she said without looking at him.

"I don't want to get to comfortable here," he admitted.

"It's been three months since that night on the cruise. No one is going to rescue us." She snapped. "It's just you and me Ben, deal with it," Miranda walked away from him, towards their home.

He sighed and ran his hand down his face and headed to their place. He saw her sit down in the chair they made together. "Don't you want to be rescued?" he asked and heard her sigh. "Don't you want to get back to your son, your husband and your job. Be with our friends and family."

She looked at him. "Yea and I got over it Ben. Don't get me wrong I will never get over Tuck and it's the beginning of November. Don't you think I would want to be with my family on Thanksgiving and every other holiday coming up, But I made my peace with this place. If we are meant to be rescued, we will be rescued. If we are meant to spend the rest of our lives here on this island, then we will. So, stop trying to control every situation and fucking live."

He didn't know what to say as she got up and walked away from him. He knew that she was just fed up.

Later on that night. They ate dinner silently. They had been silent the whole day. Miranda finished her dinner and she got up from her chair to go to bed.

Ben stood up and grabbed her arm pulling her into him. He hugged her and kissed her on the head.

"I'm sorry." Ben whispered in her hair.

"Me too." She whispered back.

Miranda looked at Ben who was turned facing her as they laid down. They talked about everything even though they were all they could talk to, it never felt forced and they never ran out of things to say.

Ben smiled at Miranda as she talked. She told him about the different surgeries she did and all the things her interns did. She also told him how much she loved them like they were her own children even though they are a couple of years apart. The light from the fire made it look like her skin glowed. Miranda lifted her hand to look at the cut she had gotten earlier that day. Ben grabbed her hand and placed a soft gentle kiss to the cut.
