Ben hit the water and sumerged under before he swam to the top. He looked around but he didn't see her.

"Miranda." Ben yelled out. Ben look over by the ship. The bottom of the ship was in flames. The engine room must have caught on fire Ben thought.

It was so dark that he couldn't see anything in the water. "Miranda!" Ben called out once more.

"Ben." He heard the panic sound of her voice.

He couldn't see her but she sounded close. He prayed to God that he could get to her before the wave carried them away. Ben swam closed up behind the boat and he saw something sparkling in the water. The moonlight showed just enough for him to catch a glimpse of her dress before the clouds covered it up. He swam into that direction. She was completely underwater. Ben left go of the life jacket to dive under and he kept doing a grabbing motion with his hands until he felt her. Once he got his arms around her body, he carried her to the top of the water. Ben treaded water as he brought her into his chest. She was out cold. Ben closed his eyes and he turned her body so the water could drain out of her nose and mouth. Ben hit the middle of her back with a little force to force to water out. When he heard her cough and the water come out. He waited a few seconds before turning her back over. He felt her pulse and her breathing. Ben then grabbed for the life jacket and put it on her body. He tighten it as much as it could go and he brushed her wet hair out of he face. She still had her eyes close. He knew that her body shut down from fear. He held her head up for her.

Ben was glad that his father was a marine. Everything that he learned in the Marine's 6 week water survival course. He came home and taught Ben and Curt.

Ben put his arm up under her body and another one under her neck so he could side Stroke swim. The waves were pushing them farther away from the ship as he tried to move against it. He didn't want to waist his energy and then they both would be dead. Ben looked up as the rain began to fall from the sky and he cursed.

This is situation was just getting worse.

Miranda was deep with in her own mind. Far back until she got lost. Perhaps she thought she was dead. Falling into the water was her last moment of life, she thought and the only thing that played through her mind on the way down was her son.

As she hit the water. She tried to stay above it. She looked out and saw Ben. Did she pull him in with her? Or was he there to save her once again? She heard him call her name. She wanted to reach him but she couldn't. She called his name and tried to hold her hand up and wave, but the sea was too violent and she submerged underneath. She held her breath. Her head was pounding, every cell in her body was screaming for oxygen. She has held her breath in a pool multiple times before but this was nothing like that. This was like having a gun to your head and being told not to let your heart beat, of course it was going to. And just like her heart, her lungs will inhale whether it's air or briny water. Still, she kept fighting, holding her breath until she felt like her head was about to explode.

She had to take a breath. So, she did and In that moment she knew that she was dead. In moments she would float like a seaweed, nothing more than flesh and bones that are ready to decay in the currents. She wanted to be saved, she wanted a rescuing hand to tow her back to life, to the world that she knew.

Ben was so busy trying to concentrate on treading and keeping them above water. He didn't see the huge wave that came crashing over them. Sending Ben underwater.
