By the time the younger man began his second round bars, the luminescence had dispersed, resuming its dimly lit state. This time, the Rap Devil was more animated than he was last round. His confidence had inflated beyond his natural abilities. He bitch slapped the Bitch with clever insults about desperately trying to fit in with a younger generation. He cracked on the rap veteran's clothing, careful to save his best ones for last. His gun bars were on point after having worked them out with a couple of his homeboys known for putting in work on the streets. When he finally finished, he was positive there wouldn't be a need for a third round.
His adversary jumped in so quick it was almost like they were part of a cypher. The old man shifted gears several times within the first few bars. The Rap Devil read it as desperation. The tone of his voice and delivery said something else entirely. The Bitch was not known for gun bars but tossed one in as a perfect mockery of the ones used by his opponent. His rapid-fire delivery added some sting to it.
The older man 'sonned' the younger rapper for the rest of the round. The Rap Devil couldn't escape the fact that once upon a time, he was an obsessive fan. It was clear, even now, that he molded himself in the image of the veteran. The Bitch then moved on to a series of rebuttals. Instead of typical rebuttals, they were complete deconstructions of what the Rap Devil believed were his most solid personal attacks. He effortlessly reduced them to nothing more than petty insults.
The Rap Devil wasn't smiling this time. Why am I agitated? He fished another cigarette from his pocket and lit it. His calm and cool pose couldn't hide his inner turmoil. The flaming smoke comforted him as it filled his lungs. He exhaled in the other man's direction as if it could somehow cloud the lyrical onslaught. All he could do was wait for it to finally end. I can give his punk-ass one round.
Knowing he lost this one, the Devil didn't wait for the lights to surround the Bitch. "You ready for this?"
"Are you ready for this?"
