May 2012 - Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) tweets this: "ok so I just saw a picture of Eminem's daughter ... and I have to say, she is hot as fuck, in the most respectful way possible cuz Em is king." MGK was 22 at the time, and Hailie was 16. He deleted the tweet after backlash from his own fans and many Eminem fans.

Jun 2012 - Oct 2015 - MGK did at least six interviews claiming Eminem had him blackballed and stifled his record promotion over the tweet. No one has produced evidence of the blackballing, but that doesn't mean there's zero truth to it.

Oct 2015 - MGK does the infamous Hot 97 interview where he defends his 2012 tweet as calling Hailie "beautiful." He said "hot as fuck" not beautiful. He went on to say, "Is there a 15 year age gap where I'm a creep for that?" Defending that tweet was not a smart move. Many fans and Interscope Records were not OK with this. **

May 2017 - MGK takes a shot at Eminem in a 'freestyle' on Power 106 (LA), still talking about being banned from Shade 45.

Mar 2018 - MGK sneak disses Eminem on the Tech N9ne song "No Reason." Tech N9ne and Eminem had done a song together three years prior. Tech N9ne was caught in the middle of a beef he had nothing to do with. He was not aware that the verse was directed at Eminem.

Aug 2018 - Eminem releases an MGK diss on the song "Not Alike." This is his first public response to the interviews and sneak disses from MGK.

Sep 2018 - MGK releases "Rap Devil" in response to Eminem. Please note that this song was produced by Ronnie J, the same person who produced "Not Alike."

Sep 2018 - Eminem quickly releases "Killshot," which is styled more like a battle rap round than a commercial song.

Jan 2020 - Eminem mentions that the beef between him and MGK is squashed on the track "Unaccomodating," featuring Young MA.

Mar 2020 - MGK sneak disses Eminem on the song "Bullets with Names."

Dec 2020 - Eminem sneak disses MGK on the song "GNAT."

Jan 2021 - Interscope FTW! Maybe this will finally end when the pandemic ends ...

** There is no excuse for the statements made by Machine Gun Kelly during the Hot 97 interview. Even if he boiled the original tweet down to not knowing Hailie's age, defending it on the basis of 'only a 6 year age gap' is disgusting. There is no situation where a 22-year-old man should ever refer to a 16-year-old child as "hot as fuck." Several social media influencers have ruined their careers because of making and defending inappropriate comments about minors.

In all fairness, there is no evidence that adult Colson Baker, aka MGK, has ever physically violated a minor. In this case, no crime was committed, only inappropriate words. Defending those words was where he went extra wrong.
