Chapter 5 - A Quest!

<----------------------->

Clarisse: ALL rights go to the author, who is a boring person, Rick Riordan. He owns all the characters except Intrise, *mumbles character name * and ^Insert a future character who probably won't even be in this book^ and most of the plot except the very twists in it. Now, I challenged Prissy. Let me beat him to death!
Me: On that happy note, let's start!!
P.S- I love that video up above!! It so fits the series "Heroes Of Olympus"!!

Campfire was fun. I mean, actual fun. However, Percy seemed nervous. I didn't understand why until I remembered that he has to tell the oh-so-great Camp Director about the Fleece and ask for a quest. Boy, I didn't want to be the one to tell him either.

After some time, Percy took his chance and stood up. Annabeth followed his example. They began explaining everything. After they finished, the campers started chanting for a quest. "We need a quest, we need a quest, we need a quest, we need a quest, we need a quest, we need a quest...", they went. I joined them. "We need a quest, we need a quest, we need a quest, we need a quest!".
The flames rose higher.
"This isn't necessary!", Tantalus insisted.
"WE NEED A QUEST! WE NEED A QUEST! WE NEED A QUEST! WE NEED A QUEST!"
"Fine!" Tantalus shouted, his eyes blazing with anger.
"You brats want me to assign a quest?" he asked/yelled.

"YES!!".

"Very well," he agreed. I shall authorize a champion to undertake this perilous journey, to retrieve the Golden Fleece and bring it back to camp. Or die trying".

I saw Percy getting excited, and I felt bad, knowing that he won't be chosen. I was, however, hoping that Clarisse would choose me. I would love to go. And since I knew what was coming, it would be of great help.

"I will allow our champion to consult the Oracle! And choose two companions for the journey. And I think the choice of champions is obvious.", Tantalus announced.

He looked at Percy and Annabeth with disgust. "The champion should be the one who has earned the camp's respect, who has proven resourceful in the chariot races and courageous in the defense of the camp. You shall lead this quest... Clarisse La Rue!", he ended.

The fire flickered a thousand different colors. The Ares cabin started stomping and cheering, "CLARISSE! CLARISSE!".
I joined in, feeling happy for my friends.
"CLARISSE! CLARISSE!".

The girl stood up, stunned. Then she swallowed and her chest filled up with pride. "I accept the quest", she announced.

The cheering increased ten-fold.

"Wait!", Percy shouted. "Grover is my friend. The dream came to me."

"Sit down!", yelled an Ares camper. "You had your chance last summer!".

"Yeah, he just wants the spotlight again!", another said.
Clarisse glared at Percy, "I accept this quest. I, Clarisse La Rue, shall save the camp!", she said.

The Ares campers, if possible, cheered even louder.

Personally, I thought this part was over-dramatic. Oh dear, here erupts Tantalus in....

The Athena cabin started to protest...

...... 3......

...everyone started taking sides...

......2......

...throwing smores and arguing...

... 1 and...

"SILENCE YOU BRATS!", Tantalus yelled.

...Here we go, storytime kiddos! ...

"Sit down!", he ordered. "And I will tell you a ghost story. Once upon a time, there was a mortal king beloved of gods! This king was even allowed to feast on Mount Olympus. But when he tried to take some ambrosia and nectar to take back to earth and figure out the recipe- just one doggy bag, mind you- the Gods punished him. They banned him from the halls forever! His own people mocked him! His children scolded him! And, oh, yes, campers he had horrible children. Children – just – like – YOU!". He was pointing not so subtly at Percy and Annabeth.
