Sometimes
One must ask them self
"Are all really one in the same?"
We all seem so different
But we are all just stardust
Beautifully ugly stardust.
Sometimes
We must ask ourselves
"Do the stars think we are the same as them?"
We are so seemingly different
But we are all just dreams
Amazingly terrifying dreams
We are the dreams of our past
We are the nightmares of our future
We are in existence
On a small speck we call home
Sometimes
We must ask ourselves
"If we are dreams, are we not real?"
We seem all too real
We feel love
Blissfully painful love
Sometimes
We must ask ourselves
"Does love ever really leave?"
We seem so empty some days
We are covered in love's scars
Honourable, pathetic scars
We are the scars of our past
We are the trophies of our future
We are alive
On a small speck we call home
And we are human
Creatures of curiosity
Afloat in space
So insignificant in the eyes of the universe
Yet we continue.
