Sam said she needed to go to do something, so we said our goodbyes and she left. I went on my phone to scroll through social media for a bit before class when I realized that I have an unread message from Liz.
I need help T-T
I stared at the message in amusement, I guess we do need to meet up after all, which I guess it's fine, I'm good for about a month and the project is due in two weeks so there shouldn't be anything major to worry about.
What's up?
I am struggling, can we meet up about an hour before class?
Sure, I guess
Sighing in laziness, I put my phone in my pocket and I went to gather my things: my computer, notebooks, sketchbooks, color pencils, etc. I got in my car and drove to the school library, where Liz and I usually meet up the few times we actually needed to study or something. I couldn't stop thinking about Sam's new case for some reason. It's not like I'm scared, I know I won't get caught. especially to a trust fund, crappy cop that belongs in an even crappier police department. When I arrived at the school library, I came to the conclusion that it's because this is the first time that I knew that the cops are looking for me.
Yeah...
That must be it...

I don't know if this is actually going to help me in any way, shape, or form, but it's been about a week since I talked to Blue about it, and her suggestion is the best current option, so I guess I can go along with her suggestion. How does a diary even work? Should I introduce myself? Wait that doesn't make sense, no one else is going to read this. But I kinda want to.
Well, can't hurt to do it, I guess.
Hey, my name is Samantha Wilson, I am twenty four years old, and I work in the police department, or I guess I could say that I'm a cop. I usually handle murder/missing cases, or rather, that's what I've been doing for about a year. My father is a retired police chief, which is why I was able to work in these types as cases fairly early. Some people think that I don't deserve this position, but I respectfully disagree.
I'm going on a tangent, that's not the point. The reason why I bought this diary is to vent about this new case I was assigned yesterday. Seven people have gone missing in the past five months and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. The latest one is a guy named Leon Matthews, age 31, and the last time anyone talked to him was his girlfriend eight days ago, apparently she was told that he was on his way to a friend's house that's out of town. We tracked his phone, but we only found a SIM card at a random gas station, and according to the owner, he doesn't remember even seeing Leon.
I keep on looking over the files, thinking that if I look long enough, the answer would suddenly just pop out. Hailey Watson, one of my partners who got assigned the same case as I, came up behind me and tapped on shoulder and I jumped in surprise.
"How you doing, Wilson?"
"Could be better, how about you?" I placed my hands on my face and sighed in exhaustion. Watson sat on my desk and shrugged, "Guess I could say the same." She motioned at the mountain of files that is my desk, silently asking when I'm going to organize it. I pressed my lips and rested my head on my hand, "I don't even know what to do at this point."
"Staring at the same thing over and over isn't going to change anything, you know," She reached over to my purse and took out some gum, "As depressing as it is, they are all probably dead by now, there isn't much you can do about that." She offered me a piece as she gave me the weird pep talk. I shook my head and leaned back on my chair.
