Everyone has their own stories. Some people might say that it was written on the stars. Some say it was just fate. Pero yung sakin, ewan ko. The only thing I know was that I have my friends by my side and my mates behind me.
And it all started with me, Dimitri Noah Gray, the President of Class 4-B.
----------
"Ano na namang klaseng grades 'to 4-B? You are the second highest ranked class of Grade 10 and yet kalhati sa inyo ang bumagsak sa English! It's not even a minor subject! Mostly performance tasks kayo mga bumagsak! This is the first time in the history of Class 4-B na karamihan dito sa klaseng 'to ang bumagsak sa English. Only five of you got line of nine? How pathetic 4-B."
Our adviser scolded. Haist, ayan na naman siya. Looking through the negatives. Well I mean, oo, marami sa'min na nagkaroon ng line of seven then kalahati yung bumagsak. But the thing is, hindi na namin kasalanan kung bakit marami sa amin ang bumagsak. And we have our stand.
Ever since the start of the school year, wala ng ginawa si Ma'am Lyssa, or as we secretly call her, Marites, kundi umupo at ipabasa sa amin ang buong libro. Then, magpaparecitation, in which ang itatanong sa amin ay kung saang planeta pa nya kinuha. Imagine, ang ipapabasa Oedipus then ang recitation ay tungkol sa buhay ni Shakespeare. At isa pa, magpapaexam samin, then ang gagawin lang is magsasabi ng coverage one day before the exam without even teaching us a single thing. Honestly, I don't think we're the ones who are pathetic.
If only the two parties would do their part responsibly and equally as students and teachers, then I don't think there wouldn't be any problem at all. And on our side, we did our part, now it's time for her to do her part.
"If anyone of you would fail her class next quarter, pasensyahan tayo pero ipapatawag ko ang magulang niyo!" She said angrily. After that, she just left the room, shutting the door loudly. Then, the bell rang. LUNCH TIME!
Sa totoo lang, that scolding thing from our adviser was so random. I mean, sa tipikal na klase namin, ayaw nya mag-interpret ng ibang topics, gusto niya subject niya lang. Then ngayon, out of the blue, nagalit sya. Parang may mali eh. Oh well, bahala siya sa buhay nya. We'll just move on from that. Bad vibes siya eh.
So I packed my things neatly since lilipat kami ng room mamayang after lunch kasi may gagamit ng TV na kabilang section. Kami lang kasi may TV sa Grade 10 kaya madalas kaming magpalipat lipat ng rooms. College vibes ika nga. Then, I heard a very familiar voice which made me smile.
"Dino! Hoy dalian mo! Ambagal, pakibilis gutom na kami!" Jan screamed.
"Oo nga, baka maubusan pa tayo ng chicken fillet sa baba." dagdag ni Phil.
Agad agad akong tumakbo palabas ng room at binatukan ang dalawa. Kala mo naman napagod sa klase eh ako naman ang nagsagot ng take home quiz nila, mga gago.
Haist, si Phil at Jan nga pala. Muntik ko ng makalimutan. Sila ang pinaka best friends ko. Though kuya na ang turing ko sa kanila since 17 na sila parehas tapos 15 ako.
Si Phil, he's an athlete. Varsity player siya ng basketball. Ligawin. As his friend, yes po opo, tama po ang hinala ninyo. Babaero si Phil. He have had countless relationships, I can't even remember how many were them. But still, he's really good at his own field, and I'm really proud of him.
Si Jan naman, well, let's just say that he's so damn rich to the point where he doesn't consider schooling as important as it is. Basagulero. Pala-away. Name it. His brother's wife was the daughter of the president of the school so he just slips out of the situation everytime may masamang nagawa siya. Pero as his friend, I know that he has a heart of gold to everyone he adores. He likes dogs, coffee, and deep conversations.
