Scott scrolled through his phone.

"Oh, look this is a nice vacation package," He showed Ana his phone.

Ana moistured her face, doing her skin care routine.

"Scott?"

"Mh?" He bummed, favoriting the trip.

"Your mother is dead," she said softly.

"I know isn't it wonderful?" He said smoothly. "Italy? I've always wanted to go to Italy. Well, see it. I heard the mobs really active there."

"I just mean, is that maybe why you've been acting...out of character?"

Scott sighed. "You know she would've stabbed me," he didn't look up from his phone, his voice even. "But you protected me. And it's not the first time either."

He smiled. "Did you know you're the only person in the world, who has ever protected me?"

Ana paused. "Scott come on, that can be true."

"It really is. Since I was younger. My parents didn't protect me. Neither did my teachers. My peers despised me. Then, when I was the hospital, I was just taken advantage of. In my whole 35 years of living, the only person who has ever protected me is you."

Scott said this with a even tone, not happy or sad. Ana wanted to cry.

"And that day, I realized something," he looked up at her. "It's like...this flip switched in me. You're the best thing in the world. You're better than surgery. You're everything."

Scott grinned. "The main reason I threw myself into being the best surgeon was to be better than her. But you know what? She doesn't matter. You matter. You're all that matters..."

She chuckled nervously. "Well not all-"

"No," he said sharply. "You're the only person who matters. At all."

She blinked. "Ah...should I be flattered or concerned?"

He shrugged. "I suggest a healthy mix of both."

She wrapped her hair up, as Scott stood, coming up behind her. He kissed her shoulder.

"I got you something," he whispered.

"When we haven't left the house?" She laughed.

He just shrugged. "Close your eyes, and turn around."

She did so. "You know Scott, there's a lot of good people in the world."

"Is there? I've only met one. That's you. Even when you tried to kill me you did it for me. My obsession used to be surgery, and I still love it," he got on his knee, "Give me your hand."

He pulled off her ring. "But I think I have a new obsession," he murmured. "Open your eyes."

She did, gasping.

He smiled. "Will you marry me?"

She chuckled. "You're ten years too late. I'm already taken sorry."

"The answer, is yes." He grinned, repeating what he'd said all those years ago.

"Of course it is,"

Scott slid the ring on her finger. "I thought it's been a while. And I think we've changed. So I got you a new ring. Do you like it?"

"I love it. When did you buy this? It's heavy as hell," she looked at the ring, holding it to the light.

She looked away. "Damn near blinded me."

"Ah, then it's a good pick. Now if someone tries to rob you...I guess you should just shoot them."

She rolled her eyes. "I try not to make that a habit,"

He smiled. "I dunno, maybe you should. Anyway, come, come,"

"I'm coming, I'm coming; I'm here."

He laid his head in her lap. "Hey, hey, Morgana?"

She looked down at him. "Yes?"

"Are you happy today?"

She smiled softly. "You know what? Yes. I was very happy today."

He grinned. "Good! Look at your smile," he touched her face gently. "You laughed a lot today. I like that. I love when you laugh."

She smiled, her fingers stoking his face gently. He closed his eyes.

"You really can be sweet, Scott. But you can't stay away from surgery for long. When will you go back?"

He sighed. "You know, people always asked me, what would I do, if I didn't succeed at everything I do."

She raised a brow, smirking at his cockiness. "Oh yeah? What do you say?"

He shrugged. "I said, I guess we'll never know."

She laughed. "You cocky little bitch!"

He laughed. "Am I right or am I right?"

"I cannot believe with a straight face-"

"I am that good, you'd think I wasn't real. Hold your applause tho, I am."

"Oh my god!"

He laughed. "Ana. I love you."

She smiled. "I love you too."
