Janie's POV
After my long shift I finally began to clean up to head to Noah's
"Ok I'm out." I say grabbing my jacket as I walked across the bar.
"Ugh lucky I wish I was getting railed tonight." Tony says as he begins to pack up as well.
"I told you I'd set you up." I say as I wait for him to pack up his stuff.
"Yea how's that going." He says rolling his eyes.
"I'm working on it." I say laughing at him.
"Work fast your mans is hornyyyy" he says finally joining me across the bar.
"Just watch call me by your name again." I say as he links our elbows as we head to the door.
"Yea right I really can't handle that right now." He says linking the door.
"Well good luck with alll that I'm going to get railed." I say smirking.
"Oh shut up you whore." He says before getting into his car.
I get into my car and quickly make my way over to Noah's.
When I get there I am feeling more tired than I originally was. I make my to his front door and knock on it and wait a second before revealing a shirtless Noah only wearing his pyjama pants with ruffled hair.
"Were you sleeping?" I say as I watch as he yawns before responding.
"I was trying to stay awake but I guess my tiredness won. I'm sorry." He says rubbing his eyes.
"That's fine I'm exhausted it was a long night."
"Wanna come in and grab a tea we can just watch a show or something."
"Sure." I say smiling up at him as I made my way past him into his house.
I was there before but didn't have the chance to take in the sight of the house. It was a bachelor pad and looked quite new, most of the things looking untouched.
"Did you just move here." I say hopping on the counter as he began boiling water for the tea.
"Yea. Just before the school year started." He said focusing on the water.
"Why'd you come here." I say swinging my legs from where they hung
"Just needed an escape I guess and the school offered me the position."
"Escape from what." I say trying not to pry too much.
"Just a new beginning I guess." He says after taking a brief pause. He then turns his attention back to me walking to where I was sitting standing between my knees 🧍🏻♂️. "For someone who is tired you sure ask a lot questions."
"Just making sure you aren't an escaped murderer."
"Did I pass." He says pulling my knees towards him.
"Still deciding." I say quickly pecking his lips jumping off the counter walking towards the living room.
I grabbed the remote and began flicking through the channels before finally landing on an old rerun of modern family.
I sat watching the tv until Noah came in with the steaming cup in his hands. He sat down beside me putting the cup down on the table before pulling me into him so my back was laying against his chest and began running his hands through my hair.
I felt my eyes begin to become more and more heavy and before I could even finish the episode I was sleeping against his chest.
The next morning I woke up alone in his bed with a note beside me saying that he had a meeting and had to leave.
Noah's POV
I woke up and felt over to the pillow beside me but once I released no one was there I looked up calling out a few times before giving up with a sigh.
Why did she leave? She did say something about having a shift the next day but I at least thought she would leave a note.
I opened my phone to see a few texts but ignored them and texted her quickly to make sure she made it to work alright.
I got up and got ready to go for a run to stop myself from overthinking.
Zoe's POV
I pulled away from the kiss staring into the loving eyes of Conner.
"When does your shift end." He says smiling down at me as I try to divert my eyes looking for a clock finally finding one on the wall.
"Right now." I say still looking around.
"Can we talk? Or just hangout?"
"Conner that was a mistake I shouldn't of done that." I say taking a step back buddying myself in cleaning the already clean tables.
"It doesn't have to be a mistake..." he says pleadingly.
"Fine." I say not knowing he wouldn't drop it.
We make our way through a park and finally decide to sit at a bench that had a nice view of the city.
"Look I know it was a mistake but I trusted you and I don't know if I can do that again." I say staring down at my shoes.
"I know... and if you give me the chance to prove to you that I have changed and earn your trust again I will never hurt you again." He says as I can feel his eyes on me.
"I need time." I say looking up to him quickly.
"That's not a no. I'll take whatever I can get." He says smirking at me making me divert my eyes again.
"Zoe I thought you were working?" I hear a familiar voice come from behind me. I turn to see Tyler standing there as his eyes darted between between me and Conner.
"Umm... yea I did just finished..." I say now not knowing where to look.
"Conner? What are you doing with her." He says now only glaring at Conner.
"Is it now a crime to talk to my girlfriend." He says giving a snarky smirk to Tyler making my head shot to him.
"Your girlfriend huh? Well your girlfriend didn't bring you up last night when I was fucking her." He says his eyes now flaring with anger.
"What did you just say?" Conner says now equally as angry raising to make his way over to him.
"You heard me. Tell him Zoe." He says now piercing his eyes through mine.
"Zoe?" Conner said now both of them looking at me waiting for my response.
"Conner and I aren't dating... I mean we did... but not now... and Tyler last night didn't mean anything." I say seeing the hurt flash through his eyes now mixing with the anger.
"It didn't seem like that last night." He said staring right bullets through me.
"Well Stephanie did say she missed you so you better think back on how much last night actually meant." I say now showing the same hurt and anger. His eyes instantly were filled with regret and I walked away before he could say anything.
"Zoe please wait let me explain." He says running towards me.
"No you had time to explain before you invited me to your apartment now it's too late." I say turning my head leaving him alone with Conner.
