Jujutsu High—regarded as one of the most impressive schools in the nation due to their formidable basketball team—was the institution nearly every baller strived to join if they wanted a chance to win the national championships. Their name had been plastered all over news articles, TV station headlines, and internet basketball fanatic accounts as if Jujutsu High was a messiah in itself. If you discussed the best names in highschool basketball, bringing up JJ High's name was of no question.
At least, 10 years ago, that was.
After their monster duo of a ravenette and snow-head graduated JJ High, the basketball team found that they couldn't even break past the second round of the preliminaries without having their team and their spirits obliterated. An entire decade passed by of JJ High sacrificing their spot in discussions pertaining to national winners and becoming a low-tier team with lower attendance numbers than ever before.
Seeing the sorry excuse of a team Jujutsu High became, Gojo found his way back into the office of the school he once took pride in representing. This year, he was determined to show what he could do as a basketball coach and took responsibility in restoring their once glorious name.
It just so happened that another sophomore who held the same mindset as him had plans for polishing dead rocks and turning them into diamonds under extreme pressure.
Added as a last resort to restore Jujutsu High's once triumphant basketball team, Yuji had the faith of the coach and the manager to show off his potential and display what hidden talents they managed to get their hands on. Unfortunately, things didn't go to plan, and by the end of the season, Yuji managed to turn his whole team against him because of his recklessness that cost them the winning title.
He knew he could be the best damn player on the court, he knew he had the ability to. There wasn't a single trait in him that couldn't push him to be the greatest to ever do it, he just needed someone to entrust faith in him. It was no wonder nobody believed in him—he became content with the dirty glances from fellow basketball fanatics around Jujutsu High. Regardless, his spirits stood high in the face of doubtful concrete walls that promised he'd never take his butt off the bench for the rest of his high school career.
Lucky for him, his manager saw not a lump of coal, but a pile diamonds that hadn't been put under enough pressure yet. (Y/N) seemed to be the only student who believed in his potential, so even after all of her friends and classmates called her crazy, she continued to make plans for the boy until he decided to approach her himself.
