Chapter 12: I Hate Mondays. But Today Was Not A Normal One

I woke up happy today I did my morning routine and made my way down stairs to see my mom and dad and Carter looking me strange. Because me being happy in the mornings isn't usual thing for me.
I ruffled my brother's hair, pat my dad on the shoulder and gave my mom a kiss on the cheek. Before grabbing my plate from the counter. Then talk my seat at the table.

I started to eat my breakfast when I notice that everyone was staring at me.

" What" I said with my mouth half full.

" Your happy?" Carter said I looked at him with a confused look on my face.

" So?" I question as I looked at him.

" It's monday honey and your normally grumpy on mondays" Mom said looking at me strange as she drinks her coffee.

" Oh well I guess I got a good night sleep" I said which was a complete lie, because I actually couldn't sleep at all I could do is think about Erin .

"Yeah I'm not buying that" Carter said as he side eye me before continuing to eat as he scrolls through his phone.

I just shrug my shoulders and continue to eat. As I am almost done with all my food I decide to check to the time and to see that it's cutting close to the time that I need to leave.  So I stuff the last bits of my food in my mouth and place my plate in the sink.

" See ya" I started walking to the front when my mom called out to me.

"Aren't you forgetting someone" Mom points to Carter. I throw my head in annoyance because I forget to let Carter know to get a ride from one of his friends today. 

" I can't I have to pick up somebody" I said in annoyance as I looked at mom 

"Don't worry I won't embarrass you.." Carter said getters up from his seat and walking over to the front door." Too much" Carter said exit the house I rolled my eyes and groan in Frustration.

"You sitting in the back" I called out to him as I walk out the door.

Erin 

Right now I'm looking in my mirror nit picking at me hair making sure it looks but it doesn't.

" Ugh I can't go out their looks like this I need to fix my hair" I was about to head towards my bathroom when my phone dings. I look at my phone to see that's Jay sent me a text.

" I'm outside"

Oh no, I have no time to fix this. I look around the room trying to find a headband or something, but I didn't see one in sight. All I alway when a white bucket head, so I grabbed it and put it on. I then grab my phone and bookbag and ran out my room and quickly dash out the front door of my house locking it behind me.

I walked over to Jay's car and see Jay standing my the passenger side door.

" Sorry it took me a minute" I walked up to him giving him a shy smile.

" Oh no worries" He smiled at me with his hands in his pocket and once again I gave him a shy smile.

" Are you two done flirting yet, because I believe we all have somewhere to be.

Jay clears his throat and looks at the boy peeking his head out of the back seat of the car. Jay looks at the boy with a glare as the boy who looks like he is in his preteen years. Makes hands gesture towards the door the and then to his wrist that time is ticking. Jay shakes his head at his nonsense and then goes and opens the passenger door for me.

" Ready?" Jay said looking a me with a shy smile.

" Yeah" I nod my head and walks over to the door and get in the car. Jay closes the door then rides over to his side of the door and get in the car. We was soon on the way to Carter school, that's the boy's name and he is Jay fourteen year old little brother. His name is Carter and he goes to our school his a freshman . He's also very talkative and very snarky from what I getting from this car ride. He constantly throwing Jay one liners while Jay just tells him to shut up. He kind of quite entertaining.

" We are here! Now get out." Jay pulled up to into a parking spot in the student parking lot.

" Dang can I say bye before you try to kick me out" Carter said with a slight attitude as he puts his bag on shoulder. Jay looks back at Carter

" See you bro and bye Erin, I hope to see more you soon. But that's only if Jay tells you how he feels." Carter said with the back door cracked open.

" If you don't get..." Jay reached in the back to get to Carter, but Carter hops out the car before Jay could reach him. Car slams the door behind him and Jay looks at me " Sorry about that"

"It's fine. " I give Jay a soft smile. " Thanks for the ride, bye" I quickly hope out the car before Jay can say anything else.

I really hate mondays.
