Chapter 2

The doorbell rang as Emmy was slipping in her second earring. She stepped into her strapless little black dress, holding it around her boobs as she trotted to the door in her red silk heels. Emmy swung open her front door to see Zach standing at it. He had on a boyish smile, dressed in his black date suit (basically one he won't wear to work), white shirt with the top buttons undone and without a tie. He was carrying a bunch of a dozen red roses; he looked utterly breath-taking. 'No wonder he always has dates, and women falling at his feet,' Emmy thought. Suddenly she regretted agreeing to his back out clause, she didn't want him leaving after the first date like he did with most women, and she wanted to share him even less.

"Oh they are lovely," Emmy said, removing her hand from her dress to take them. It fell to the floor as her left hand was still on the door knob.

"Not as lovely as you, but that's more than I expect to see of my girls on the first date, well before I've even taken them out." Zach said joking, as Emmy started blushing when she realised what he was talking about.

"I couldn't get the zip up on my own, I didn't mean to flash you, but it's nothing you haven't seen before." Emmy said bending forward and picking up her dress as Zach came in shutting the door behind him. It really wasn't anything Zach hadn't seen, admittedly he hadn't seen it is years but back in their college days he had seen her with a lot less on. No wonder girls ran for miles at how close they were, and girls now told Emmy to take a hike, although that didn't end too well for them, because Emmy would always say something, eventually, and he always dumped the girl. However now when he watched Emmy in the black satin panty and bra set, he could feel himself getting very aroused. He had always known Emmy was very pretty, beautiful even, but he had never been turned on by her before. Probably because she was his best friends and until now was off limits. Suddenly he remember why he knew the underwear she was wearing. He had brought it for her one Valentine's Day when they were both single and decided to spend it together. They had gotten each other couple gifts as a joke, and using his connection Zach had gotten them into a fancy restaurant where they had stayed till closing making fun of all the couples being gooey and romantic and swearing they were never like that. He pulled the zip of her cocktail dress up, and she turned to smile at him.

"I'm glad you couldn't get the zip up because," he pulled a tie from his pocket. Zach despite having to wear a tie to work every day couldn't tie a tie; Emmy always had to do it. She often wondered how he had coped when they had lived apart and not seen each other every day, she had often imagined him wearing elasticated fake ties.

"How could you survive without me?"

"I don't think I would," Zach admitted honestly.

"Seriously, now I've always wondered this, who tied your ties when I didn't live next door?"

"In a way you still did, when you announced you were moving I counted how many I owned, I had you to tie each one, one last time before you left, and never undid them. I just carefully slackened them and took them off over my head every day, which kind of killed me, because after a stressful day there is nothing like ripping off your tie, unbuttoning your shirt and opening a cold one." He smiled at Emmy, and she smiled back.

"I'm glad; I don't think I would have liked anyone filing in for me."

"No one could ever even come close." Zach told her sweetly.

"What if I had done up my dress?"

"I might have just gone tie-less, but I'm really not sure." Emmy loved Zach's honesty. He was like a little kid in that way, he didn't see the point in lying to her, she always found out. She had seen him lie to everyone else he knew, but not her.
