*sigh*

"Y/n, get your feet off the dash." I slowly took my feet off the dash.

"Dad, are we nearly there?.." I spoke quietly.

He nodded as I saw the big sign reading, 'Addison apartments'. The car squeaked as we pulled into the parking lot. All of our stuff had already been out into our apartment by a bunch of shady movers. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the stuff was stolen. I got out of the red 93 Toyota paseo with a nudge. I felt a shooting pain stab my ribs. I let out a small noise. Dad didn't take much notice. The pain quickly went away. Dad tossed the keys to me.

"Hold em for me won't ya?" I nodded.

I looked up into the window when I saw 2 boys, one with medium length blue hair and one with long brown hair. They quickly ducked as if I didn't see them. I sighed.

I started walking with my bag on my back. When I noticed my dirty old converses were broken. I shook my head in annoyance. We walked all the way to the entrance. I noticed that the keys dad handed me, had '203' written on it. I assumed that it was the 3rd room on the second floor. Dad and I walked into the old rickety elevator and pressed the
button for floor 2.

The lights were flickering on and off. I was hoping the elevator wouldn't get stuck. The doors opened and I was face to face with a boy wearing a mask and a long haired stoner. They started giggling and ran. I thought nothing of it and soon made my way to our apartment, as well as my dad.

"Don't pay attention to it y/n their probably just screwing with you." dad said in his soft tone of voice. I nodded again.

I wasn't much of a talker when it came to my family. I unlocked the door, it creaked open. The room didn't look in the best condition but we will make do. We're not picky livers. I looked up to my dad, indicating which room was mine. And he pointed to the first room. I walked into it tiredly. Tossed my bag into the corner, put the keys in my back pocket and looked at all the boxes I had to unbox.

"You know what son, don't worry about it. Leave it to me. Go meet the neighbours." I smiled at him.

I thought to myself, 'what if I tried making friends with those kids. They seem my age'  that's when I noticed a big tree house outside. I put my hands against the window, looking out to the cold wonders of outside. It seemed as if no one was in it. I went out the entrance to the apartments and made my way to the treehouse.

My feet were cold as I heard the crunches of snow beneath my shoes. I met the bottom of a ladder. I put my hands on it and began to climb up. I was scared of heights but I was intrigued.

I met the top of the ladder and saw two boys sitting, both legs crossed.

"I am so so sorry, I'll be on my way.." I said trembling in embarrassment.

"No biggie dude, why don't you join us anyways." The person with the long brown hair said, in a stoner voice. I returned a smile.

I reached up and planted my feet on the boards.

"Is this even safe..?" I spoke quietly.

"Yeah dude! It's been here for ages man! Don't worry about it. I'm Larry by the way! I live in the basement with my mom." Larry said.

"I'm sal." The boy with the blue hair said.

He didn't seem like much of a talker. I didn't want to ask about his mask in case it triggered something, but I did anyway.
