all of you have helped me reach almost 37,000 reads on "body" and over 2,000 votes. some of you also helped me reach almost 2,000 reads on "mind" and over 330 votes. you've made me realize that i have been severely lacking on writing my third prose book, "soul." my bad guys. i've been working on this book and had been dealing with a lot when i started "soul." i'll be more consistent. anywhozies, thank you all very much. i appreciate you all a lot <3

note: this is an example of what's called a "boxing match script" in screenplay writing. essentially, the script writer is attempting to portray a scenario where the characters are in disagreement about something. it's meant to be like a boxing match, where the words and actions are the blows. there does not have to be a literal boxing match.
it's also good to keep the dialogue going, but not as a sacrifice for action. adding subtle things in active voice like "she huffs and crosses her arms" or "she turns and wipes her tears" is helpful to establish the mood of the scene and bring emotions to life through body language.
it was the third of four scripts i had to write in my fall 2020 intro to screenplay writing course. it was supposed to be a partner assignment, but all my partner did was come up with the idea of two guys having some argument using peer pressure. i came up with the following script, wrote the entire thing, and turned it in with just my name because i was tired of, as my professor called it, "saving [his] ass." it was an awkward feeling, but in the end it was dope.
