"can you stop crying" i put my head on top of raelyns and held her.

"what if crickets at the pet store get excited because they see other animals getting adopted" she sniffled while wiping her eyes on my shirt. "and they think they're going to a family and tell all their buggy friends about it but they're just food"

i let out a giggle and rubbed her arm up and down with my hand.

"it's not funny" raelyn mumbled and hit my chest.

"but they're bugs" i looked down at her.

she had the cutest pout on with her red eyes from crying over crickets. she's been crying over literal crickets for the last thirty minutes ever since we got back to her house.

we went to the pet store with bubba and zeus and got them some cookies and a few other things. raelyn was staring at the crickets for a while and when we left she started talking about them and never stopped.

now she's been crying about them for the longest time!

"i wanna go back and buy all of them" raelyn sniffled. "can we go back?"

"no we're not" i chuckled. "we are not buying bugs"

"but they're probably ex-"

"hush up" i cut her off. "no bugs, the other day you were screaming over a tiny cricket. they don't feel like t-"

"you hush up, you don't know that!" raelyn cut me off and looked at me. "everything has feelings!"

i let out a chuckle and continued holding her.

raelyn cried for another ten minutes over crickets and knocked out. i was laying down her with her on top of me.

i decided to grab her phone to spam it with pictures but when i saw her lock screen my heart literally melted.

it was a picture of me and bubba when she was a little puppy, probably the day after she got her. i was holding her up with her little nose against mine.

the picture was way before we even started dating.

i snapped a couple pictures of us and put her phone back down. raelyn woke up a couple minutes after i did.

"i had a dream and you were in it" she mumbled against my chest.

"was my fit hard" i smirked while running my fingers through her hair.

"i just remembered you were in it" she told me in a tired raspy voice. "i sleep better when i'm with you"

"good for you" i giggled and she looked at me with an angry face. "i'm just playing baby"

"shut up bitch" she mumbled. "i know you sleep like a baby when you're with me, you literally get mad if i move a centimeter or some shit"

raelyn closed her eyes again and went back to sleep i think or she was just watching me scroll on my phone.

"what if the spider in the corner of your room thinks it's watching and protecting you" rae mumbled out of nowhere. "what if it thinks you're roommates and it's doing a good job looking after you from all the bugs that come into your room"
