- Thalia POV -

The next morning, Hecate gave us a little more info before she teleported us into the wizarding world. I zoned out for most of her lecture, but I got the main points.

Basically there was a dark wizard at Hogwarts, and we had to kill it, blah blah blah. Oh and we were not allowed to reveal that we were Demigods. The usual. I yawned, hoping that these so-called wizards had a coffee machine.

And then she teleported us, and it woke me up faster than any caffeinated beverage could.

It was nothing like shadow travelling. It felt like I was sucked into a tiny tube and pushed through at the speed of light. When we arrived at our destination, I saw all of my friends staggering, just as disoriented as me. Stupid goddesses! Is there seriously no other, less turbulent way to teleport?!

After I got over my disorientation, Annabeth quickly took charge, and pulled out her Hogwarts letter.

"For those of us who weren't listening, we are at the place where wizards do their shopping." (I could have sworn she briefly glared at me and Leo, dunno why.)

"We all need robes, this list of books, and a cauldron. We are also allowed to get a pet. Hecate has supplied us with infinity wizarding money, so we can buy our supplies and anything else we might need. Oh, and of course, we need a wand.

We were all excited to get a wand, though we tried not to show it. Personally, I was just excited to learn all the different ways one could prank your friends, and steal candy. I definitely have my priorities in order.

We visited a couple shops, and Annabeth wisely dragged me and Percy away from a brightly colored joke store called Weasley Wizard Wheezes. It looked like a paradise.

In an old fashioned store, we all bought our cauldrons, and we got our robes fitted and adjusted in Madam Malkin's Robes. It took HOURS.

We had to go to the bookstore next, and it was actually mildly interesting. And that comes from a dyslectic, ADHD demigod. It was a pain to drag Annabeth away from the place.

The pet store was stuffed with animals of all sorts. Annabeth got a beautiful, great grey owl, which she named Evelyn. Percy got a bright blue parrot, (surprise, surprise) and they were squawking away, generally sounding like choking ducks. Percy announced that his parrot was named Blueclaw, and he was a sea parrot, whatever that was. Piper fell in love with a mischievous calico that seemed to be able to change its color at will. Jason got a tall, eagle-owl, who he named Hermes. I got a black cat, who I dubbed "Deathgripper". He was easily the toughest, most vicious cat in the store, and had a long scar across his narrow face. I loved his eyes most of all, which were electric blue like mine. Leo wanted to get the horned owl, which could breathe fire, but instead got a face full of fiery rejection. We all laughed at his expense. Nico, Will, Hazel and Frank all skipped on getting an animal, for their own various reasons. Poor Frank was getting cawed at by a bunch of riled-up screech owls, and looked very uncomfortable.

Finally, it was time to get our wands. The place was narrow and shabby, and the 10 of us barely fit inside.

An old man emerged from the dust and gloom, and cast us an interested look.

"Demigods, Eh?" The man spoke in a raspy voice. "Yes, yes, it's uncommon to see so many of our type together."

Percy thought hard, which I considered an accomplishment for him. "Are you a demigod too?" The Seaweed brain asked slowly.

The man smiled, revealing exactly 3 teeth. "Yes, I am a child of Athena, just like our young friend here." He kindly nodded at Annabeth, who looked surprised and a little disgusted. Hey, I would be disgusted too if I found out my half brother was a 300 year old grandpa.

"Anyways, yes. I have your wands already picked out. The Lady notified me of your arrival." Huh. I wonder why he called Hecate "The Lady." Maybe she is some sort of celebrity amongst the demigods of the wizarding world.

He quickly got to work. Long story short, these are our wands:

Percy: Pear wood, phoenix feather, 13", reasonably supple.

Annabeth: Acacia, phoenix feather, 12 ¼", unyielding

Piper: Apple, dragon heartstring, 11 ¾", brittle

Jason: Beech, unicorn hair, 14 ½", unbending

Nico: Yew, phoenix feather, 9 ½", supple

Frank: Willow, unicorn hair, 11 ¼", quite bendy

Hazel: Ash, dragon heartstring, 11 ¾", quite bendy

Leo: Dogwood, phoenix feather, 9 ¾", bendy

Thalia: Aspen, dragon heartstring, 11", unbending

Will: Cypress, unicorn hair, 10 ½", bendy

We were all exhausted by the time we had finished our shopping, except for maybe Piper, who seemed more energized. Stupid daughters of Aphrodite. I curled up with my new cat Deathgripper before falling into a dreamless sleep.

Peace out! :)
