-Harry POV-

I shifted uncomfortably as Dumbledore pointed the Elder wand straight at me, his icy eyes serious. I slowly brought my own wand out, and pointed it back at him.

Can you blame me for feeling nervous? After all, I had never actually dueled Dumbledore.

I awkwardly bowed, remembering my dueling lessons. Dumbledore winked at me and bowed back, but in an instant, his expression stilled.

"Um...should I start?...Ok....erm..." I stuttered. "Expelli-"

He silently countered my spell before I could even cast the spell. I regained my bearings and quickly tried again.

"Immobul-!"

He reflected the spell, and sent it shooting back at me in the blink of an eye. I ducked, and it missed me by a hair. I concentrated and tried again.

"Um...Stupef-!"

This time he blasted me back, and I staggered, stunned. He just stood there, twiddling with his wand and looking dissatisfied.

"Try harder Harry."

I exhaled shakily, getting frustrated. It's not fair for him to expect that I'm as good as he is!

All of a sudden he skillfully sent a curse at me, which I barely deflected with a Protego.

He sent spell after spell at me, and I jumped and dodged like crazy, amazed at my luck. Dumbledore hadn't even broken a sweat, and I could barely keep up. I was too occupied dodging and deflecting spells to feel ashamed at how out of practice I was. Dumbledore was crushing me. But that's what he wanted, right?

I was tiring and I could feel my exhausted body moving slower with each movement. Dumbledore took the chance and sent a patronus spell at me. Blinded by the bright silvery Phoenix that dived straight at me, I was unable to dodge the full body bind spell that followed.

I fell to the ground, humiliated and stiff as a board, as Dumbledore looked down at me. He pointed his wand at me one last time, his wise, wrinkled face unreadable.

"Expelliarmus."

I felt my wand jerk out of my rigid hand, and heard it clatter on the floor. My face would be flushed if it wasn't paralyzed.

The old headmaster bent low over me, his long crooked nose suspended centimeters over my face.

"Are you alright Harry?" He asked quietly, observing me.

He seemed to conveniently forget that I was unable to move, let alone answer his question.

As if things couldn't get more awkward, someone barged inside Dumbledore's office. Oh Merlin. Why me? There is no way I could have THAT bad luck!!! But of course Percy Jackson had to show up.

Peace out! :)

- Percy POV -

Professor McGonagall stopped me on my way out of the great hall, saying that she had a message to deliver to Dumbledore. Do these professors really use the students as messengers? Don't they have like, owls and stuff? In any case, I was handed a scroll and sent on my way, praying to Hermes that I wouldn't get lost.

Hermes must have come through, because I made it to the Headmaster's tower easily. Two ugly gargoyles guarded the door, but they were pretty chill and let me through when I showed them McGonagall's letter. Screw you Terminus, I'm bringing one of these Gargoyles back to Camp Jupiter.

I was startled by the stairs, which moved smoothly upwards, like an escalator. I was so startled, that when I reached the door, I grabbed the handle for support and tumbled right inside.

"Uhm..........sorry.......am I interrupting something?" I asked, taken aback by the scene in front of me.

Harry seemed paralyzed or something, and Old Dumbly was bending uncomfortably close over Harry. Potter's wand lay forgotten a meter away from me.

The professor shook his head, and stood back up as gracefully as possible. "I apologize."

I glanced distractedly at Harry. "Is...is he ok?"

"Yes yes he's fine...it's a long story." Then he picked up his wand and pointed it at Harry's chest.

He mumbled something like "Episkey.", which I instantly recognized as the counter curse to the full body bind spell. How did I know that?

Harry sprang back to life, stretching, ashamed, and groaning. I kicked his wand back to him, which he grabbed, his eyes never leaving my face. "Even heard of knocking?" He spit, his voice filled with hate.

Before I could reply, Dumbledore welcomed me in.

"Please come in. So Mr. Jackson, what brings you here?"

I showed him the letter, which he accepted and nodded my dismissal. I shrugged and headed out the door. That was quick. I heard the last of Dumbledore and Harry's conversation, the sound growing fainter and fainter as I descended the escalator stairs.

"Now that the wand has switched loyalties, I think it is time for you to leave as well. One last thing, have you found good use for the gifts I sent you?"

I snorted. He does seem like the kind of guy to spoil the arrogant boy.

"Yes sir. The goblet was great, I used it at the feast. And I can't wait to try out the broomstick!" He replied animatedly.

"Well then thank you for your help today Harry."

"No problem Professor." Harry responded coolly, making me wonder what the Hades was going on in there. Acting out a dramatic action movie? I doubt it. And I didn't stick around to find out, heading straight for my new dorms.
