- Harry POV -

I bumped into Annabeth on my way out of the great hall. She didn't even look at me, but I called after her. It was past time we were introduced. I did not want to run into the "I like Cho but I dragged my feet to ask her out and by the time I did she was taken" problem.

"Hey! Annabeth, right?" I asked, running a hand through my fabulous tousled hair.

She glanced sideways at me. She must be really good at hiding her amazement that I knew her name, because she just rolled her eyes.

"What do you want?" She asked, her low voice cut through the noise of the crowds. I smiled, trying not to show how much her steely grey eyes unnerved and enticed me.

"Would you like to....er...hang out sometime-" I asked, suddenly sweating as she glared murderously at me. She started walking angrily up to me, hopefully to kiss me, not to kill me, when she was stopped by...uh oh. Death Eater Jackson.

"She's taken." He said protectively. He glared at me, and suddenly I felt very thirsty and my skin started drying out.

"I know that you guys aren't from around here so you might not have heard about me," I said smoothly, addressing Annabeth doing my best to ignore Percy. "But I've done incredible things you couldn't even dream of. I defeated the greatest evil wizard of ALL TIME! I saved the world!"

There was a suspenseful pause after I had finished my awesome speech. I waited for her to compliment me, or at least look awed, but instead, the duo burst out in laughter.

"Oh .... my ... gods! Whew I needed that laugh, thanks! Annabeth breathed. She grabbed Jackson's hand and left, leaving me in the dust, frustrated and embarrassed. That Jackson loser must have brainwashed her somehow! Someone as smart as her would never be with a Death Eater by choice!

I shook my head, clearing my mind from my frustrated rant. I could dwell on how to get rid of the Jackson Jerk later. Instead, I pulled the note Dumbledore gave me out of my pocket, and headed towards the Headmaster's Tower when I arrived at the Gargoyle.

"Uhhhh...is it still Lemon Drop?" I asked the gargoyle, who swung open for me. Impressed with myself, I giddily ascended the stairs, excited for my first real conversation with the undead headmaster!

The office looked just as I remembered it. The large, circular room was still covered with curious objects and headmaster portraits. I was happy to see Fawkes again, who fixed a beady eyes on me and ruffled his gold and red feathers. I jumped when Dumbledore apparated into the room, with a satisfying pop.

"Good Afternoon Harry! He smiled pleasantly at me.

"Thank you! And welcome back professor!" I grinned.

"Please sit, we have a lot to discuss."

After I sat down, he sighed and sat across from me.

"You must be wondering why I summoned you here. You see, it has to do with my wand."

He brought out the Elder wand and twirled it between his fingers.

"It was very kind and thoughtful of you to return my wand to my grave. How did you manage to do it?"

I scratched the back of my neck in embarrassment. "It was nothing. I just made a fake duplicate of the wand after the war, which I broke in half and threw into the great lake. I put the real one back with you... in... you know... your grave. Speaking of which, how are you even aliv-?"

Dumbledore cut me off and twiddled his fingers. "We are getting off topic here. I would like to let you know that I am very grateful that you returned my wand to me. It was an act of kindness and bravery, and I would expect no less from you."

I fought a silly grin off my face, and scratched my neck again as Dumbledore continued his speech.

"But, as you know, to wield the Elder wand properly, one must be it's master. You have truly understood this concept, and I could not be more proud. Yet we both know the Elder Wand's allegiance is not held by me.

As Dumbledore waited for me to understand the meaning behind his words, his piercing blue eyes searched mine.

My eyes widened, and I dropped my silly grin. "Oh." That was the only thought my brain could muster. The Elder wand's loyalty could only be won if someone overpowered the wand's previous master. And it was loyal to me. And Dumbledore wanted the wand to be loyal to him. I gulped. Oh.

I was going to have to fight the greatest wizard who ever lived, who was also my headmaster.

I was going to duel Dumbledore. Oh.

Peace out! :)
