"Literally, get out."

I was still angry from the night before and was in no mood when Jasper came creeping into my dorm room the next morning. I hadn't gotten much sleep and I felt like I was going to vomit from nervousness.

"I brought you a muffin?" He put a pistachio muffin on my bedside table and sat on my bed.

"Traitor." I mumbled.

"I'm sorry, but it's Maribeth. You know I've been in love with her since I was like 12, Bri. Can't you understand that maybe it's not gonna be so bad?" He tried to reason with me, but I wouldn't take it.

"No, Jasper, it is going to be bad, if not for you, then for me." I sat up in bed. "Mom and Dad won't even tell me who it is that I'm going to be stuck with!"

"Stuck is a very bad choice of words, Bri." He sighed and crawled under my covers. "Are you the least bit excited? I mean this is huge."

I laid back down next to him, feeling his eyes burn into my skin. I shook my head vigorously. "No, I'm not."

We sat in the quiet for a few seconds, lingering in the thought of getting married. I had had my marriage planned since I was seven.

I wanted my wedding at a castle, the ceremony outside in the courtyard. The reception would be both inside and out, so that it gave people options. My theme: lilac and sage.

I had always put a lot of thought into my wedding, but never wanted to rush it. I wanted it to be natural, with someone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, not was made to.

"Just try to keep an open eye? Yeah?" Jasper said, finally breaking out silence.

"Sure..." I agreed after some seconds of quiet. I was going to try to be on my best behavior for him, not for Mom or Dad, for Jasper. "Does Maribeth know?"

"Oh, for sure." I could feel his happiness. I knew he was going to enjoy that night when he was to go to Mari's estate.

In the midst of our conversation about nothing and everything, the best type of conversations, a dress bag materialized, hanging on the knob of my door.

"Oh yeah, we have to dress all fancy. Mom told me yesterday." Jasper sighed and rolled over in my bed.

I got out of the warmth of my covers and shivered, the cold touching my bare legs and arms. Yes, I am one of those people who sleep in shorts and a tank top all year long. I eyed the black bag, reading the logo on it.
