*************Luna’s P.O.V*************

The last few days have been more hellish than usual. The dogs have been more stressed out than usual, making our lives even worse than it already was. And don’t even get me started on baka Hibiki, that dumbass has upped his game. I guess he’s still mad after I shoved an electric eel with a few piranha on its tail down his pants three days ago which by the way, BEST. DAY. EVER. Even some of the dogs got a laugh out of it.

Sadly the little lady was tortured as well, much to my displease. I tried to ask the dogs politely why are she even on my floor, I even used some extreme measures (which was a nice payback by the way) but the guards are more tight-lipped than ninja spies. I asked around during free reign if anyone knows who she is but it seems no one knows the young Daniki tribe girl is or even related to.

We both have been through a lot these past five days. From walking on broken glass covered in rubbing alcohol, to  escaping  a fish tank filled with sharks, electric eels and piranhas (hence baka Hibiki’s little ‘Incident’ hehehe), to being used as a live dart board using poison covered darts (The poison are slow killing and extremely painful). The amount of medicinal herbs used over the past five days is enough to leave the infirmary bare for months. Good thing the Tendoshu is paying the bills.

Today has been awfully quiet though. It’s almost night time and not one guard has come to take me and the Daniki girl to our next form of punishment. There has been an increase in the guards due to the important guest in the Shogun’s castle so now we have four guards on our floor. The Daniki girl and I have been playing card games  all day, to satisfy our boredom, when suddenly the rusted metal gate groans down the corridor, signaling that someone has come up. Well I guess I spoke too soon.

“Time to go to work Chibi-tan,” I tell her as I get up and stretch out my laziness. I started calling her Chibi-tan because she doesn’t really have a name and if I name her it means I’m growing an attachment to her. That’s the last thing I want right now but I think Chibi-tan is starting to grow on me. I’ve already grown protective of her and want to help her even though I swore off any attachment to anyone after I lost dad and the rest of my family. Attachment brings emotions and one way or another someone or something will find a way to twist those emotions into your weakness and cause serious damage and immense pain and I don’t think I have it in me to lose another person I care about. I feel like it will literally break me into pieces and destroy my very soul. I may seem happy-go-lucky and normal on the outside but I’m so emotionally scared that it will make Freddy Kruger jealous (I heard about him from eavesdropping on the guards conversations. What, it’s boring up here!).

“Awwww already and here I thought we were having a day off,” she says as she stretch out like a cat, she even makes the little cat meow.

I internally awww at this.

Cutest.

 Thing.

 Ever.

She stand and face the cell door as the clack of someone’s wooden slipper knocks against the concrete floors. The person bends the corner and it’s too dark down there to see their face but their outline is visible to me, having being used to the dark nights here for so long, my eyes adjusted to it quickly. The person is obviously male, medium built, about 6’5, with shaggy hair and is holding a monk staff in his hand.. This outline seems vaguely familiar. As the steps get closer the man seems more and more familiar, a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that I know this man. He stops in between Chibi-tan and my cell and his clothing is illuminated in the light of the flames on the wall but his face is hidden by the komuso on his head. He’s wearing a normal guard uniform but he still gives off a vibe, one that I definitely don’t like.

He leans on the wall and motions for the guards to release us from out cells. They do as their told and let us out, but not without our chains. He then walks back down the corridor and motions the guards to let us follow him. The shove us forward making Chibi-tan and I stumble but only a little.

“Didn’t your mother teach you how to handle a lady,” I scowl at the man while Chibi-tan glares at them both before walking down the semi dark corridor.

We quickly catch up to the man, who awaited us patiently in the elevator with two other dogs, and enter the enclosed box. The two guards follow us in and press the button to take us down while Chibi-tan stands a bit closer to me, slightly trembling at the fact of being trapped in an enclosed space with these dogs. I look down at her briefly before grabbing her hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze.

This situation doesn’t make any sense to me at all. Why would Hibiki send this many guards to fetch us, its not as if we haven’t gone through Punishment Hour before and even when they brought Chibi-tan the first time we never had all this ‘security detail’. ‘Was it because of the warden’s guest?’ I thought to myself as the elevator dings signaling we have reached our destination. The door slides open and the two guards in front of us steps out on either side of the door, and the ones behind us push us forward with the butt of their staffs. The man brushes past us, leading us down the fancy looking corridor, too fancy to be apart of the prison. “We couldn’t be…” I whisper to myself, but the further down we go the more that I’m convinced that we are in the castle walls.
