Ekira narration: Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements could stop them. But, when the world needed them most, he vanished.
Ekira narration: A hundred years had come and gone and the war was no closer to its end and the Avatar was still nowhere to be found. The Fire Nation slowly creeped into the heart of the Earth Kingdom. The Firebending Army produced the greatest warriors that history had ever seen. Among the newest generation of fighters were my brother and I. Our father was a decorated General in the Fire Nation Army. Our mother was a high class noblewoman. When we were only children, our father was killed in battle. Our mother tried to move forward, but the grief was too much for her. Little more than a year later, she took her own life. With no one left to go to, Koto and I were on our own. We had to fight just to survive. We remembered the little training we had and built off of it on our own. By the time we were 15, we had become some of the most legendary bounty hunters in the Fire Nation. By that time, things had begun to change. Strange occurrences would ultimately end in the return of the Avatar. The Avatar that would change everything... the last Airbender.

Chapter 1: Fire Nation's Finest
Soldier 1: They're around here somewhere! Keep looking!
The squad of Earth Kingdom soldiers began to fan out in their search. They ventured further and further into this dark forest, unaware of the peering eyes watching their every move. The peering eyes silently stared, waiting for an opening. It was mere moments before they found it. One soldier had gone just a bit too far from the rest of his squad. As he looked around, he heard a voice from right behind him.
Koto: Psst! Hey, Rocky.
The soldier snapped around, only to be met by a kick to the face. Koto then examined the soldier's unconscious body. After a moment of searching, he frowned and raised his arm into the air, making a hand signal. The sounds of leaves rustling could be heard above him as he slowly drifted back into the shadows. The shadowy figures moved towards the rest of the soldiers. Seeing their opportunity, they sprung into action. Koto charged at them from behind, taking out one soldier with a quick fire blast.
Soldier 2: THERE HE IS! THAT'S THE CREMATOR!
The Earth Kingdom soldiers began using Earthbending in an attempt to take down Koto. Koto, on the other hand, quickly and gracefully dodged the boulders being flung in his direction. Once they had been sufficiently distracted, the other shadow jumped into action. The female figure jumped down from a nearby tree, kicking a soldier in the head on her way down. She then began fighting the Earthbenders with Koto. The light of their Firebending revealed her to be Ekira Shen, the White Dragon. These simple soldiers were no match for these master Firebenders, and were swiftly dispatched. Once the fight had ended, the two of them approached what appeared to be the squad leader. They briefly searched the body and pulled out a slightly singed scroll.
Ekira: There you are...
Koto stretched his arms and yawned.
Koto: You think sideburns will give us a raise for this job?
Ekira: Koto, Commander Zhao is giving us the largest sum we've ever been offered for our services and you still complain about wanting more?
Koto: Yes, yes I am!
Ekira: And this is why I'm the one who's in charge of negotiations.
Koto: You can do whatever you want, Ekira. At least I'm not lying to myself.
Ekira: Lying? Lying about what?
As Koto responded to Ekira's question, his face contorted into a maniacal grin.
Koto: I'm not here to act all good and modest. I like money! I like HAVING money! I like killing for money!
Ekira: Well, maybe we should get going then so you can get your money a little bit faster.
Koto scoffed.
Koto: Fine.
The two of them once again vanished into the shadows. Though they didn't know it yet, this would be the last normal day they'd have in a long time. From this point on, their lives would be a death defying journey and a perilous test of wills. They unknowingly walked into the next chapter of their lives, never to return to how they once were.
