Chapter 3: The Silent Marauder

Zuko sat in his chamber, meditating. As he breathed in and out the flames of the candles in front of him increased and decreased in intensity and brightness. He was knocked out of his meditative trance by the sound of the door opening.

Zuko: The only reason you should be interrupting me is if you have news about the Avatar.

The door opened completely, to reveal Iroh on the other side.

Iroh: Well, there is news, Prince Zuko, but you might not like it. Don't get too upset.

Zuko: Uncle, you taught me that keeping a level head is a sign of a great leader. Now, whatever you have to say, I'm sure I can take it.

Iroh: Okay then. We have no idea where he is.

Zuko immediately became agitated, the candle flames erupting into an inferno.

Zuko: WHAT?

Iroh drew a fan and waved it at himself.

Iroh: You really should open a window in here.

Zuko: Give me that map.

Zuko took a map from Iroh.

Iroh: Well, there have been multiple sightings of the Avatar, but he is impossible to track.

Zuko: How am I going to find him, Uncle? He is clearly a master of evasive maneuvering.

Meanwhile on another ship

Ekira: This kid has no idea where he's going.

Koto: What makes you say that?

Ekira: Look at this map. These dots are all the known sightings of the Avatar and his bison. They're all over the place! Wherever he's trying to go, it's obvious that he doesn't know where it is.

Koto: Yeah, that could be true... oooorrrrrr he has mastered the art of evasion!

Ekira simply gave Koto a look that screamed "really bitch?".

Ekira: Yeah... sure...

Koto looked out at the setting sun and let out a yawn.

Koto: I'm going to get some sleep. Don't stay up too long thinking about that meetup with your boyfriend.

Ekira snapped to look at Koto. She had an angry look on her face.

Ekira: HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND!!!

Koto: Whatever you say, sis. You can try to defend all you want, but nothing gets past me!

Ekira scoffed and turned back to looking out onto the horizon, a small blush forming on her face.

A Few Hours Later

The Shens' ship sailed through the darkened seas as the moon and stars provided what little light that they could. A handful of guards made their rounds making sure there were no intruders in the dead of night. One of these guards noticed some movement along the side of the ship. He went to investigate, but found nothing. He shrugged and continued his rounds. Once the guard turned around, a long shard of ice embedded itself in his neck. The guard began gasping for air on the ground as a figure appeared standing above him. The figure said nothing as he stomped on the guard's face.
