Going Public

3 weeks later

amelia's pov: teddy and i have been dating for 3 weeks, and it has been amazing. we are planning on letting hr know about our relationship. a lot of people already know, like mer, derek, maggie, alex and owen, but we haven't gone public yet. "hey," teddy says as i walk up behind her. "how did you sleep?" "we didn't do very much sleeping, did we," i say. i slide my hands around her waist, and gently kiss her neck. we are in the kitchen of the house. maggie walks in. "oh, my god," she says. "please, amelia, its bad enough that you guys keep me up all night with your incessant banging, but please, get a room. you have one," at this point, teddy and i are making out, and maggie is kind of jealous of the fact that i am in a relationship, because she is single. "fine," teddy says. "but, for the record, i should be able to kiss my girlfriend in her kitchen when she wakes up," we walk up to my room, and go at it until we have to go to the hospital. 

teddys pov: we go up to bailey, as she is finishing rounding on a patient. "hi chief bailey," amelia says. "amelia and i are dating, and i am letting you know, as your employees," i say. "well, ok then. thank you for informing me," bailey says. we walk away, and amelia slips her hand into mine. later today is meredith's baby shower, and i still need to get her something. "hey amelia, have you gotten anything for merediths baby shower yet?" i say. "no, not yet babe, have you?" she says. "no," i say. "we should get something together later," "yeah, of course," she says. "mer is always talking about how she needs more baby blankets, so we can get some at the gift shop," "ok, we can get them on our way to the shower," i say. my pager starts buzzing. "crap. i have to go," i say. "bye babe." "bye," she says. i kiss her quickly, and run to the er. 

at merediths baby shower

amelias pov: teddy and i went to the gift shop before the baby shower, and get a yellow blanket, and a purple blanket. as we pull up to the house, teddy kisses my cheek. we walk into the house, and derek walks up to us. "hey amy, hi teddy, glad you could make it. there are drinks in the fridge. make yourselves at home." derek says. "derek, you sound like a guy who is hosting a ball in his ballroom," i say. "you dont need to be this formal, der" meredith says. "amelia is right. this is a some friends coming over for pizza, and a few baby shower games, not an english garden party." "fine," derek laughs. he kisses the top of mers head, and rubs her cheek with his thumb. "so, do you guys know the sex of the baby?" teddy asks. "yeah," derek says. he looks at meredith, to make sure it is ok for him to share the news. she smiles, and nods. "its a girl!" derek says. "congratulations!" teddy says. "we are still working on names however." mer says. maggie and alex walk in, and meredith goes to greet them. we place the wrapped gifts on the table with the other gifts. "what did you get them?" cristina says. "some blankets," i say. "nice," cristina says. "i got this baby carrier thingy for them" "cool," teddy says. i walk over and get pizza for teddy an i. "thank you babe," she says. i kiss her forehead, and hand her the paper plate. 

teddys pov: after we finish eating the pizza, we all sit in a circle in the living room, watching meredith open gifts. i sit next to amelia, holding her hand. she opens up the gift we got for the baby. "thank you amelia and teddy," she says. we smile. "no problem," amelia says. we sit around playing games for a while, and then the party starts to die down. amelia and i head back to my place. amelia basically lives with me, because her house is hectic, and we have so much more room at my apartment. i want to ask her to move in with me, but i dont want to scare her off. "hey," i say. "hey," amelia says. "so, you basically live here." i say. "is that a problem? i can stay at my place more if you want me to," "no, no no no, the opposite, actually. i... want you to move in with me." i say. "wait, are you serious?" she says. "yeah." i say, and i smile. "so? do you want to move in?" "oh my god, yes teddy of course ill move in with you." she says. "oh, thank god i thought i would scare you off." i say. she kisses me, and i lose myself in her. her beautiful, thick hair, and her faint smell of cinnamon and some sort of flower. i wrap my arms and legs around this beautiful girl, who i get to live with. i sit in her lap facing her, and i press my forehead against hers, and i smile. "were moving in together." amelia says. "were moving in together" i say. we lay in our bed, and we fall asleep, spooning, with me on the outside.
