tamelia: what if?

New Life

teddys pov: amelia and i walk up to merediths room, where derek is sitting next to her, holding her hand. "its ok mer, at the end of the day, we will have a healthy baby girl, and we will be a family of 5. they will have us outnumbered, but we have people to help us, like amy and teddy and alex and maggie," he says. she is standing next to the bed, and holding her stomach and derek is rubbing her back. "hey mer, howsit going," amelia says. "well, i am pushing something big out of a very small hole, and it hurts like a bitch on steroids," she says. "but all things considered... it still sucks," she laughs bitterly, and sits down on the bed. 

a few hours later

amelias pov: meredith is almost fully dilated. "do you want anything mer?" i say. "for this baby to be out of me," "well dr. grey, you are almost there," says the ob. "7 centimeters dilated,"  i go with teddy to the cafeteria, and get some lunch. she gets a slice of pizza, and i get a hamburger. "hey babe, can i have a bite?" she says. "of course teds," i say. she takes a bite, and our eyes meet. i see a speck of food on her cheek, and i rub it gently with my thumb. "you had some food there," i say. she smiles, and leans across the table to kiss me. we finish eating, and find an on-call room, where we can do anything we want without being worried about anyone seeing us. i hold her and kiss her neck. she smiles, and i move my way down her amazing body. she moans softly as i kiss her thighs. she pulls me up to her face, and smiles as i kiss her nose. she gently nibbles on my earlobe, and i kiss her neck. then, my phone buzzes. its derek.

d: meredith is fully dilated. i think she wants you here. 

a: be right there.

"its mer," i say. "shes fully dilated." "oh, ok. lets go," teddy says. we put on our clothes as fast as we can and run up to merediths room. "aaahhh," mer says as we walk into the room. derek is holding her hand as she pushes. teddy and i stand next to mer and push her hair out of her face. "you are doing great mer,"i say. "ok dr. grey, just one more push," says the ob. she pants, and she pushes one more time. the baby cries, and they wrap her in blankets. derek holds her, and then sits down next to meredith. he hands her to meredith, and she smiles. "hi baby," she says. tdddy and i smile, and sit on the couch next to the bed. we stay like this for a while. "do you want to hold her," derek says to me. "oh of course!" i say. he hands her to me gently, and i smile. this is my newest niece. she looks just like meredith. "mer, she looks just like you," i say. "really? i think she has dereks eyes," she says. teddy is standing behind me, and she looks at her. "i think she looks like meredith as well, but she definitely has your eyes derek," teddy says. "i think she is every bit as beautiful as her mom," derek says. as he smiles down at mer. "do you have a name yet?" the ob says. "yeah," derek says. "ellis lexie grey-shepherd," meredith says. "beautiful," the ob says. "after my mom and sister," mer says. i smile, and put ellis back in mers arms, and put my hand on her shoulder. "we can go get zola and bailey for you if you want," teddy says. "that would be amazing. thanks for offering," derek says. "my car has carseats in it, so you can borrow it," he tosses teddy the keys, and we walk to the parking lot. as we drive, i slide my hand up and down teddys thigh. she laughs. "get it all out now, before there are children in the car," she says. "oh, i have a lot that i want to get out," i whisper in her ear. i kiss her neck, and we pull onto the ferry. i take her into a bathroom stall and quickly unzip her jacket. she kisses my neck as i sit on her lap and start running my hands around her body. we kiss for a while, and then get back into the car, because the ferry is docked. we drive to mer and dereks house, and knock on the door. 

teddys pov: the babysitter answers the door. "are you here for bailey and zola?" she says. "yeah," amelia says. "im dr shepherds sister," she shakes the babysitters hand. "oh, you must be auntie amelia," she says. "zola talks about you a lot," amelia smiles. "thats me," we walk inside. "auntie amelia!" zola says. she runs up and hugs her. "hey zo!" she says. "wheres your brother?" "hes in his room playing with trucks."  zola says. "well, lets go find him!" i say. we go into baileys room, and amelia picks him up off of the ground, where he is playing with his toy cars. "we are going to go see your mommy and your daddy," amelia says. "and, we are going to meet your new baby sister!" "yayyy!" zola says. we put them into the car, and drive back to the dock and get on the ferry. "can we go on the top deck?" zola says. "of course!" i say. we get up to the top deck, and zola runs over to the railing. "be careful miss zola!" amelia says. she hands me bailey, and goes to watch zola. i walk behind her, and sit next to them on the bench. as the ship pulls into the dock, zola runs back down to the car. we follow her, and she smiles as we put her into the car. we drive back to the hospital, and we go back to mers room. "knock, knock," amelia says. zola runs into the room. "mama!" she says. "be careful," derek says. "little sister is still very small." zola looks at ellis and smiles. "she is so cute!" zola says. "whats her name?" "her name is ellis, after grandma," mer says.  "i like that name," zola says. "me too zozo," meredith says. i hand bailey to derek, who sits next to meredith, zola, and ellis. amelia puts her head on my shoulder, and i wrap my arm around her and kiss the top of her head. she puts her arm around my waist and smiles up at me. i smile back down, and kiss her forehead.
