Last time on Ancient Legend Returns ...
Laval and his friends hid in the shadows, for they dare not reveal themselves to the past for unforeseen consequences. They watched as their past counterparts climbed down their speedorz and stared at the girl. Unknown to them back in their time, a fiery red-head girl was lying near the pond, a sign of the repeated past.
Journey to the past – part 2: to where it begins
Time seemed to have stopped as Laval and his friends watched with nervous anticipation as their counterparts stared at the Huma. The Huma crouched into a defensive positive, ready to strike should the animal warriors attack her. The messed-up animal warriors glanced at each other with still silenced as if they were attempting to decide the appropriate action for this situation. A moment passed when the lion took a step forward, startling the Huma and causing her to step back closer to the edge of the bank. A moment passed when the lion took a step forward, startling the Huma and causing her to step back close to the edge of the bank. Laval peered through the bushes, watching as his ancestor slowly remove his chi blade and set it on the ground, calmly raising his paws as a sign of peace. But the Huma stood still, her eyes gaze firmly on them, waiting and anticipating their next move. The lion-man spoked, "Please, do not be afraid. We do not mean you any harm." While he spoke, he slowly walked over to the hairless girl. She crouched down close to the water, preparing to dive in and swim away. At a final attempt, the lion pulled his sword and before the girl had a chance to do anything, he threw it away. For Laval, it was one thing to hear that his ancestor would toss away his weapon, leaving him defenseless but to witness, it was shocking. Judging by the Huma girl's face, it seemed that she thought the same thing. Slowly she lifted herself from her current position but did not remove herself from her location. Her eyes looked over the lion before glancing over his shoulder to where his companions stood. The lion followed her gaze, his eyes widening with the realization that while he may have shown her that he was not a threat, however, his friends still held the possibility of being a threat to her. He gestured to his friends to throw aside their weapons. They did (though some were confused and others were reluctant), and the lion continued to walk over to the Huma until he finally stood a few feet in front of her. As these events took place, the present prince of the lions and his friends watched with disbelief. They were astonished (aside from Razar, who was internally squealing at seeing his ancestor and witnessing his favorite legend coming to life) and couldn't believe what they were witnessing. Right in front of them, history was replaying itself. While many questions running through their heads (for Eris, it was a million questions), the Huma finally relaxed and walked up to the lion. "My name is Lanvall, prince of the Lion tribe, Huma. Who are you?" the prince Lanvall questioned, holding his paw out. Cautiously, the female Huma stretched out her hand, hovering it over Lanvall's paw before finally clasping it on. As she shook hands (er... Paws?), she said, "nice to meet you, Lanvall. My name is Leona, daughter of the Huma tribe."
At that moment, the memory started to ripple, causing the scene to look like a messed-up watercolor painting before a large orb of light flashed. The animals quickly covered their eyes as it got brighter. They uncovered their eyes when it passed over, only to reveal a different scene of a forest. Laval's eyes widened, as he recognized the forest from his dream. He started to run in the direction of the riverbank where he first saw the girl. Noticing his friend, Cragger followed after Laval, shouting, "Laval! Slow down!" Unsure of what was happening, the others followed the crocodile prince.
Laval ran and ran till he reached the same riverbank where he first saw the strange female creature. As he stopped near the edge of the riverbank, he began to frantically look around. Behind him, Cragger and the gang ran close to him, looking confused at the lion prince's behavior. Cragger walked up to his friend, hearing him muttering something like "where is she", "maybe this time I could..." as he came closer. Reaching out his arm, he touched Laval's shoulder in concern. "Laval, what has got into you?" he asked as his friend glanced at him. Laval turned his head back to the riverbank, staring to the other side.
Now this further perplex Cragger. He watched as Laval just stood there, his eyes glancing in every direction as if he was looking for something... or someone. He began to open his mouth to say something until he heard the rustling of the brushes. He slowly moved his arm and gestured to his friends. Cautiously, they approached Laval and Cragger till they stood directly behind them. Following the direction of where their friends were looking, they watched as an injured Huma limped out from the bushes and limbs and headed toward the riverbank, looking around warily and cautiously, as if she was being hunted. Slowly, the Huma inched her way towards what appears to be a path made by partially covered stones. Then out of nowhere, a tall male Huma appeared behind the girl, hold a strange silver stick.
Laval's eyes widened before they narrowed at the male. He tried to take a step towards the girl but his friends stop him. "Laval, what are you doing?" Eris exclaimed. Laval didn't answer but struggled to get away from his friends' clutches. He couldn't let what he saw in his dream happen. As he struggled against his "captors", the female had already stepped on the first stone and was trying to hop to the next one. The gang had stopped to watch as the male pointed his stick at the girl and then, a loud sound went off. Laval finally got away from his friends and raced towards the female as she slipped into the water. Laval tried -key word, tried- to dive into the water but to his dismay, he wasn't able to even set one foot into the water. It was like a barrier was placed to prevent him from saving the drowning huma. So he just stood there, feeling useless while his friends watched what happened.
Things grew silenced as no one knew what to say about this development. Finally, Eris broke the silence when she said, "Laval, what was that about? You have been behaving strangely since we were transported from watching the meeting between the tribes' heirs and the Huma. The way you were acting, it was like-" "Like what?" Laval growled. Sensing that this could get ugly, Cragger was about to intervene when Rogon yelled, "Uh, why is Cragger running into the water?" Eris was about to state that Cragger was standing beside them when a Croc who eerily resembles Cragger had indeed dived into the water. They watched the watery surface, more specifically, the air bubbles, wondering if he would be able to return. A few moments passed, the animals grew anxious- Laval: anxious and worried for the Huma. The air bubbles slowed until they stopped; the lion prince started to panic. But then, Cragger's doubleganger came splashing out of the water, and there in his arms was the Huma female. The doubleganger trudge from the river onto the land and walked in the direction of their favorite hangout spot. Not wanting to lose trace of the gator, they followed him till they reached the Forever Rock. Hiding among the bushes, they watched as the gator carried the Huma to the Rock and gently placed her under the shade of the tree. Turning around, the gator faced in the direction where the gang was hiding and began to speak. They couldn't figure out how they could hear him but they heard his message as clear as day. "Listen to me now, young descendants. The prophecy that legend has spoken of is about to take place. But I fear that history will repeat itself. I implore you, the younger generation, to find the Huma and bring her to safety. You must protect her at all costs, not just because of the prophecy, but for her sake as well. I also hope that you will have an open mind to what will happen and will not repeat the same tragedy that on us." Laval, for some strange reason, felt that last line was directed at him. But before he or any of his friends could speak, the whole area glowed brighter and brighter. And then, all they could see was black.
