The Speech

When the entrance ceremony came around the mayor of Bunker-30 came to the podium and started speaking about something about responsibility, Josephine was bored out of her mind and was wondering if she could take nap standing up and if it would look ridiculous.

Meanwhile, in the back of the hall Joseph was also bored as hell and was trying to whisper to Michael who was next to him "psssst are you paying attention hey..."

which Michael obviously noticed but tried his best to ignore the nagging. After what seemed like years to Josephine and Joseph,

The Mayor started to talk, he spoke in a grand voice "Since all of the formalities are out of the way, let's talk about what most of you are interested in and the only reason you're here"

He took a deep breath that could be heard in the speakers of the hall "The history of our humble home..."

the mayor paused for a minute before taking a deep breath and continuing "Here in Bunker-30 of the Alaskan state we all know that the surface is a desolate wasteland since the aftermath of World War 3, the dying remnants of humanity reside in bunkers all across the world, this fact is what you have known for years but we have left a very crucial fact about this..."

"The many people that do take the foolish choice of going into the surface and leaving their Bunkers are met with creatures that can only be called "Kaiju", these Kaiju vary in size and shape but all these kaiju have one thing in common, the power to destroy and annihilate. The knowledge of these kaiju is not known to most people of the bunkers as most people who chose to venture outside into the surface are killed when they meet their first one but the reason, we know them, is because 30 years ago before the time any of you were born..." an agent whispered into the Mayor's ear, he nodded and continued his speech "We were attacked by a kaiju"

gasps could be heard all around the hall, the Mayor continued his speech in his grand voice

"This bunker used to be two bunkers, Bunker-29 and 28 but when the kaiju attacked, we had to pool our resources together to make Bunker-30, we tried to kill the kaiju that attacked but everything we threw at it failed it took 6 months of retaliating until he exited the remains of bunker-29"

He stopped and took a deep breath before looking at the piece of paper that his speech was written, on the pedestal "There have been attempts in the past to kill these kaiju in the past 2 decades but all these attempts have all resulted in defeat either due to a lack of firepower or competence sometimes being both. There have been reports of human communities on the surface but most of these communities die in a couple of months of their inception. The causes of death for most of these communities are the lack of fresh resources and reliable sources of food on the Surface causing the weakening of these communities until their eventual demise, another cause of death for these communities is a kaiju attack, these kaiju attacks are usually not even attacks, it's just being in the kaiju's way that kills these unlucky communities. The radiation that radiates from kaiju is heavily toxic and any area that it has been in usually turns into a high radiation zone compared to the rest of the wasteland that is Earth's surface. Most kaiju vary in shape, color, and abilities but the most common traits of kaiju are that they usually range from a height of 150 to 250 meters with some kaiju reaching as high as 300 meters in height."

The mayor sighed and was close to the conclusion of his speech "That is all the knowledge up to date about these kaiju but as the last warning to this batch. The knowledge of kaiju is a tough subject for many and has made commit suicide, so please remember that you are safe here in the confines of Bunker-30"

After the entrance ceremony, Joseph fainted at the infodump that was just dropped on him, when he dropped onto the floor Michael picked him up and laid him on the corner. James and Josephine walked up to Michael carrying the Limp knocked out Joseph,

James greeted with a calm voice looking at Michael "He passed out, huh"

With Josephine sighing "Of course he passed out, he's Joseph he passed out when we told him Santa didn't exist remember"

To which James and Michael nodded. Michael spoke up "so you guys going to help me carrying this guy"

James and Josephine spoke in unison, "Sure but we have to do it quickly, Class is about to start".

After minutes of struggling to carry Joseph to the infirmary, the trio of friends walked into their classroom. Josephine was sat next to Michael with James to her backside.

The teacher entered the classroom "Hello everybody my name is Mr. Fannings and I will be your Homeroom for this year" Mr. Fanning cheerfully introduces himself, most of the girls in the class were already fawning over for their teacher while all the boys were groaning at the girl's googly eyes.

The teacher was getting ready for his lecture "Today we are going to go through our course outline for this quarter..."

The lecture seemed to go on for hours for our trio...

Somewhere in the deep depths of Bunker-30, an error was blinking on a computer screen in an old dusty room "Error: Bunker to Surface Filter 4 has Failed... Please contact superiors"
