"𝓑𝓾𝓻𝓷𝓮𝓭 𝓬𝓱𝓲𝓵𝓭𝓱𝓸𝓸𝓭 𝓭𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓶"

It was late in the evening, I sat on the porch of our house breathing in crisp, fresh air. I couldn't help but stare at the firey sunset, the way sun slowly flowed under the dark horizon, how fluffy clouds embraced the solar giant as if putting it to sleep. The last rays were covered by the rustling leaves of the oak trees that were planted all over our huge garden. No sound reached my ears, but the gentle whisper of evening cold breeze.

This idle atmosphere brought me peace as I closed my eyes, slowly letting go of my daily struggles and invasive thoughts. My parents keep track of every step I make, of every word I say, and every breath I take. They also worry for my well-being, that is why, my dear mother suggested keeping me indoors at all times, just in case I'll catch a cold or a flu. So every time I was let out into our garden, oh dear Poe, I had to enjoy every second of it.

My mom's kitten heels clicked as she walked out of the house, it took her a millisecond to notice me and grab my arm. "Don't sit here! Your skirt will get dirty!" She scolded me as she forced me to stand up. Although I heard her coming close, I was taken by surprise after her not-so-gentle pull. "Sorry, mom." I blurted out while trying to make her let go of my arm. "Once again with that gibberish!" She fumed as her grip grew tight, so tight that the fabric of my cardigan let out a soft rip. "Is this how a young miss of (Last name) family must speak?!" It hurts, it hurts so much!

"My apologies, mother." My voice turned into a squeak of pain, I lowered my head in a small bow hoping she'll have mercy. "That is much better." She let go of my limb as she walked down the paved pathway. "Now then, don't stand out here gawking around. We were going on a walk, remember?" She outstretched her hand as I hesitantly took it. How can such tender, warm hands of this woman be so harsh when I make a mistake?

We walked around our garden that was located behind our mansion. The sky by now grew completely dark, revealing little shimmering stars. The majestic moon made its grand appearance in between the spots, while illuminating pale white light on the sinister world below. I tried to keep up with my mother's steps while looking around the night sky/ My eyes darted around, trying to spot at least one constellation that I've read in a huge tome of astronomy.

"The sky looks magnificent tonight, isn't it?" My mom rested her hand on my shoulder, at first I grew tense, but as I realized that no punishment awaits me I calmed down. It is rare of her to act so tolerantly around me, usually, she would judge and find mistakes in everything I did. "We must head back home, it is getting cold." She gently nudged me towards the mansion, gesturing for me to start walking. "Yes, mother." I nodded curtly as I began moving back to the porch. It's been a few days since I stepped out of our mansion, I hardly spent twenty minutes outside, but who am I to talk back to my beloved mother?
