CHAPTER THREE:
Unaware, I'm tearin you asunder

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

DIGITALIS— ALSO KNOWN AS FOXGLOVE— is a poisonous flower when ingested.

Only when ingested, or at least had a contact with one's mouth, eyes or nose. It takes about an hour or two before the side effect from its poison appears, and the most prominent known side effects of foxgloves are paralyzation, slow pulse, upset stomach, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea, fatigue—

And death.

In the language of flowers, the foxglove can have both negative and positive symbolization; intuition, creativity, insincerity and deception.

Cha Seong-eun hit the floor loudly, hitting it knee first. The throbbing was quite dull compared to the ache in her head and pain from her wounds and bruises. Her skull felt  like it was being squeezed like a vice as her vision blurred.

I should have killed him— Cha Seong-eun cut her thoughts off.

There was no time for regrets. She needed to think of a way to get away and escape him, quickly.

But if the worst comes to worse . . .

She heard Park Yujin walk towards her, his footsteps were accompanied with a squelch, probably from him walking over puddles of her blood. She knew he loomed behind her with a knife, a wide smile etched in his face. Cha Seong-eun took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

Chance . . . All I need is a chance!

Suddenly, she felt everything and nothing once.

The rush of a knife in her hands and the feeling of stabbing someone with it. She relished the feeling of holding someone's own life in her hands, and the blood that sticks to it. She looked down on the beaten body in front of her, smiling wildly as she brought down the knife and stabbed it near her heart—

Cha Seong-eun— with all the strenght she can muster in her current state— moved out of the way, the feeling of satisfaction and sadism still ever present in her veins, thrumming silently. There were hints of confusion, beffundlement, wondering why she— or he— was doing all of this and . . . Huh.

This . . . was not her own emotions, nor her own thoughts.

But she did not have time to ponder it as she felt surprised at how they dodged her attack— no, not she, Park Yujin— she can see his manic green eyes turned feral once again, but, before he could move to stab her again, she crouched down, making Park Yujin stab the wall. She felt disoriented at her sudden movement as frustration welled up in her— him.

"Damn it, stop struggling—!"

If she was more rational, she would have thought her next action more throughly. But, with her current emotional state mirroring Park Yujin's unstable one, she— with no hesitance whatsoever— swiftly pulled the knife tucked in her pants, stabbing it on his stomach repeatedly.

The sound of a knife piercing through a flesh echoed in the room. There was a sadistic glint in her eyes as she watched blood spill out from his stomach, along with a hint of satisfaction.

Her hand that was holding the knife was engulfed with violet light; indicating the use of the skill.

The transparent liquid that coated the knife suddenly turned scarlet. She did not know what was happening but she was sure the poison— that is actually a juice extracted from the foxglove— is making the side effect of the poison act more quickly, if she's manipulating it correctly.
