Cha Seong-eun knew she did not stand out in a crowd. She blended in nicely, like colors upon colors on a artwork.

And she was fine with it, being unnoticed. The solitude was a warm company and misery was a dull presence.

That, until, it was the end of the world. Seong-eun couldn't stay unnoticed or normal because inconsequentiality equated to being useless, and being useless means death.

So here was Cha Seong-eun, knee deep in trouble, hand in hand against faith— she had looked death in the eyes and laughed.

As Kim Dokja looked into her eyes  directly, Seong-eun revelled in the fact that someone had looked at her— finally.

If you are rereading this, then you might have noticed that the contents of this author's note have changed. I have realized overtime how awfully childish and awful my first author's note was, despite it being only months since I've started writing this.

And this note is still is, unfortunately. Just a little more wordy.

This fanfic is a huge stepping stone from me. The first fanfiction I have ever published after years and years of making unpublished draft. I was a novice, unsure of myself and my writing, but after receiving reviews and votes for this fanfic, I have gradually grown and improved.

Well, I think I did, at the very least. Looking back at my prior writing, while not bad, I cannot say it is good either.

This fanfiction wasn't written out of love or adoration. I have loved the novel and book, truly, but I was fueled by delirium and spite. After reading the novel and crying my heart out, the ending left me with a big gaping hole in my heart— a hole that nobody can fill. So what do I turn to? Fanfictions. I have read and read a lot of them, but I was left unsatisfied and also with a ridiculous amount of adoration for Kim Dokja— so I wanted a fanfiction that not only satiated my want for a satisfying story, but along with romance because I am a simple girl, damn it.

But they always end up lacking, in small, minute ways. It's not the writers fault, they're not the problem— I am. Because I am selfish; I want the story to go how I liked it.

I sound greedy, of course, I know that arrogance and obsession clung to my very words and actions. I have no doubt you are either irritated with my self serving angst and irrational rant, but notion that I have to go through all my life without at least reading something that went how I like it just irritated me to the very core.

So that was how this fanfiction was born.

Was I good enough to write one? No, but I write for nobody but myself and my own self satisfaction, so while I may say sorry for being an amateur and a layman when it comes to writing, I would never apologize for writing and posting something like this.

Forgive me. I have ranted too much. I don't think anyone would sit through and read this, but if you did, thank you.

Celestial, how laughable. I wonder what lengths would I would go through to reach the conclusion of a heavenly titled book.
