INTERLUDE ONE:
The chaos, the cosmos, and the infinite paradox

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

 ━ THE DEFINITION ━
OF UNFORTUNATELY

adverb. used to say that something is sad, disappointing, or has a bad effect.

Humans are created with colors and cosmos— but never chaos.

Their lives are already written down from the moment they're born.

They cannot change their fate— or any other person's fate for that matter.

Except for one.

But before that, there are three things you must know before we proceed.

━ THE FIRST FACT ━

Park Yujin was a victim of fate.

All the world's the stage; and all the women and men are merely players.

And that's what Park Yujin is; a player, an actor. A mere drop in the ocean, a small wave before a big ripple. He was truly a good man who loved Cha Seong-eun, but, that love was not enough. So, the story— the author, the reader— decided otherwise.

Because, whatever the story says, it goes. The thread of fate wrapped around his fingers, pushing and pulling him at their own will. He was a puppet, a tool to be discarded if it's not of any use any more.

Perhaps, if this novel was written around him, you might have cheered for him, maybe even hope for him to win— but, unfortunately, it was him against the world.

And the world wins.

( The world always does. )

THE SECOND FACT

Cha Seong-eun was not in the original story.

However, humans are powerful being— don't you know that? Of course not; you lots have not even grasp one fourth of what you can do. You have the world, the power to do anything yet you constrain yourself to boundaries, never breaching, never walking out of line.

She was in neither novel. It had— and should have been— only the three: reader, writer, and the main character. You may know of my distaste of survivors, but, you see, perhaps I might dislike those who disrupts the balance more.

Of course, before you judge me, let me take a step back and explain.

Disruptors— as the name suggests— disrupts, of course. They ruin the balance.

By ruining the balance, it created a butterfly effect— a ripple, if you may. Envision this: the universe itself is a still body of water, and Cha Seong-eun is a droplet— small, insignificant, but when dropped upon this stagnant water, it will inevitably cause disturbance. She created ripples that would disrupt the still universe, unconsciously making a ripple effect and creating an unforeseeable future.

And while death is my moniker, my handle, keeping time linear is my handle also— if time itself is affected, then so are those who were meant to die.

Because of that, it lays in my non-existent hands to maintain the balance.
