Chapter Twenty-Three

Maya opened the ring box, and you saw a beautiful engagement ring in there.
You covered your mouth with your hand, as tears rushed down your face.
"Y-Yes Maya. I will marry you." You choked out.
Maya stood up and slid the ring on your finger, and wrapped her arms around you pulling you in for a kiss.

"I love you." You whispered against her lips.
"And I love you." She gave you another small peck.

"Congratulations!" Vic shouted as she popped up from the bushes.
"Vic!" You heard Andy yell.
"What? It's over. I got pictures. Our best friends are engaged now, get off the ground." Vic said as she pulled Andy up.

"You made them hide in a bush?" You asked, laughing.
"Well, I asked them. And they said yes. They wanted to help make this as magical as possible for you." Maya said, kissing your forehead.

"Come over here!" You shouted to your friends.
They stumbled out of the bush, and quickly made their way over to you and Maya.

"Congratulations!" Vic said wrapping her arms around the two of you.

"Thank you, but you're hurting me Vic." You said breathlessly
"Shit my bad." She stepped back, her face still all smiles.

"Congratulations ladies. I can't believe Maya 'Monogamy Is For The Weak' Bishop finally wanted to settle down." Andy told them.

"Oh shut up Herrera. When you know, you know." Maya said, giving you a kiss on the cheek.

"Well, we're gonna let you two enjoy the rest of your day. We'll talk to you two tomorrow. Congratulations, again." Andy said, giving you two a wave.

The two of you said your goodbyes as they walked off.

"I can't believe you did this." You said, wrapping your arms around her neck.

"Like I said. When you know, you know. And I know you're the love of my life. And I can't wait to spend the rest of my life loving you and our baby."

*Two Weeks Later*

You and Maya walked into Doctor Montgomery's office to get the test results on baby Bishop.
"Y/N, Maya, welcome back. Are you ready for your results." Addison said as you sat down on the table.

"Please." Maya said taking your hand.
"Okay, everything looks normal so far. No signs of deformation. You said you want to know the gender?"

"Yes." You nodded excitedly.
"Congratulations. It's a girl." Doctor Montgomery said with a smile.

"Oh my God, did you hear that Maya?" You asked excitedly.

Maya nodded, smiling with tears in her eyes.
"Congratulations ladies. I'll see you in four weeks."

"Maya, we're having a healthy baby girl." You said wiping tears from your eyes.

"I can't wait." Maya said, kissing your forehead.
"We have to tell everyone."
"I agree. I'll have everyone come over for dinner tonight." Maya said, picking up her phone.
"I think I saw Catherine and Richard somewhere. Let's go look for them." You said, hopping off of the table.

The two of you walked out, holding hands.
Lexie came running up, "Is everything okay? I saw the two of you go in."
"We're fine Lex. Just a little check up." You said, wiggling your left hand trying to get her eyes to catch the ring on your finger.
"Is that- oh my God! Really!" She exclaimed, grabbing your hand.

"Yes. She proposed two weeks ago. We've just been too busy to tell people and we wanted to tell everyone in person." You said smiling.

"I'm so happy for you two. I just love you both." Lexie said hugging the two of you.

Her pager buzzed, and she looked down at it, "Shit, I gotta go. Call me later!" She ran off.

You took Maya's hand and went up to Richard's office.
You knocked on the door and walked in.
"Oh hi sweetie. What are you doing here?" Catherine asked.

"Just a baby check up. What are you two doing?" You said, hugging her.

"Just talking about a case. Is everything okay with the baby?" Richard asked.
"Oh definitely. She's strong and healthy." You said smiling.

"She? Oh my Goodness!" Catherine said hugging the two of you.
"Congratulations. Does that mean Maya proposed?" Richard asked smiling.
"You two knew?" You asked, your mouth handing open. 

"Y/N, I wasn't going to propose without asking your godparents. I know how important they are to you. And they are technically grandparents to our baby girl." Maya said smiling.

You felt your eyes well up with tears.
"Oh sweetheart, don't cry." Catherine said.

"Just the hormones. I'm just happy." You said sniffing.

"We're having dinner at our house tonight, if you all would come we'd love to have you." Maya said smiling.
"And don't tell anyone our news. You two, and Lexie are the few who know." You told them.

They promised they wouldn't tell, and said they'd be there.

The two of you walked out of Richard's office, and walked down to the lobby.
"What are we feeding everybody?"
"Don't worry baby, I'll take care of everything. Let's go to the store." You said kissing her hand.
