Chapter 15

Christina's POV

I went downstairs with Sarah. I was really dreading talking to Jake. I went up to him and asked how he felt about Anna living with me. He told me that he was happy. I was really surprised. At 10:00. I put Anna and Kira to bed. I grabbed a blanket from the closet and put it over Sarah and went upstairs to talk to Jake some more. As I was walking upstairs, Mark told me he was going to bed. I kissed his cheek and continued to walk upstairs. I got to Jake's parents room and I knocked on the door. I heard him say come in so I opened the door and sat on the bed.

"How are you doing?" I asked even though I knew the answer. " I'm hanging in there." Jake replied. I bit my lip and spaced off.

I looked over at Jake and I realized he was staring at me. I chuckled. " What are you doing?" I asked. He shook his head and continued staring at me. I stared into his beautiful green eyes. He leaned in towards me and I leaned in to. He began kissing me and I started kissing him back.

About a minute later I realized what I was doing and jumped off the bed and ran downstairs. I ran into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. Wow. I look nothing like Anna. I started crying. All the memories from 8 years ago flooded into my mind.

I heard a knock on the door. I dried my tears and opened the door, praying it wasn't Jake, It was Anna. She looked me in the eyes. She had a hurt look in her eyes. "Did I do something wrong?" Anna asked quietly. "Of course not." I said as I picked her up and hugged her. I started crying again. I just stood in the doorway of the bathroom holding Anna. I carried Anna downstairs to the kitchen.

I put her down and walked over to the cupboard. I got down a container of Oreos. I opened the fridge an got out  carton of milk. I poured us a glass and we spent five minutes just eating cookies in silence. "Christina, can I ask you a question?" Anna asked. I nodded my head. I took the glasses and put them in the sink."Since I'm going to be living with you, does that mean I can start calling you mom?" Anna looked at me. I walked over to her and kissed the top of her head. "Of course you can." I replied. I took the Oreos and put them back in the cupboard. "Can I ask you another question?" I sat down and waited for the question. "Who's my dad?"

I had been praying since the day she got here hat she wouldn't ask. But I guess she has a right to know. I took a deep breath and started telling the story.
