Just acquaintance

Chapter 5

I pack the tracker and taser gun then go out to look for him.

I march around the whole neighbourhood only to realize this won’t work. I need a plan. I take out my phone and open the file where I have saved the details of all the heroes. 

Let’s see, I am out on a hunt for a wild animal named Julian, commonly known as Mr S. His natural habitat is the PH HQ and likes to visit bars and pubs, especially the ones in the eastern parts of the city, completely opposite of where I am. But it’s daytime and they aren’t open yet. As for his house, it’s not somewhere I can infiltrate. And his hideout I have never been able to tell where it is. He always flies off with a new girl in his arms every time. I did think of seducing him to get in, ended up leaving that idea at thinking.

Just in case, I glanced through the news if any useful information can be found. Ah-ha, there he is chasing another villain, the name wasn’t mentioned. He is at the centre of the city near HQ. As far as I remember he is assigned to 3 villains: Dwade, Azrail and me. If either of them were out they would have destroyed at least one building. That means it’s something else. 

I hopped on a bus to the HQ but was stopped in the middle. The police were clearing out the area to prevent any casualty from this new, unknown villain. All the roads were blocked so I jumped over the roofs to reach him. The news made the search range smaller but it wasn’t any easier as the city centre is denser. Two channels were following him live with drones. Following that, I was able to locate him. Now the challenging part, how to get to him without informing the whole city. 

He was running, taking a lot of turns and avoiding the drones? Why was he avoiding those? His flamboyant personality can’t allow him that. I jump onto a barren old building roof. I messed up the wiring of that building and lit a tiny fire, just on the top floor. And now I have to wait. Not even a minute passes and he is here. I hear him rushing up looking for people in each lot. I hid behind the front door and screamed for help. 

“I am coming up, keep calm”, he said to the ‘victim’.

As he entered, I closed the door. His eyes widened on seeing me. He gained composure quickly and rushed towards the nearest window.

“If you want me”, the hero panted,” Come and get me.”

I paused, languidly sweeping a hand up and under his chin. 

“Want you in which way, darling? Don’t get me wrong, Both involve ropes, but it’s an important distinction to make before we proceed.”

He escaped from my grip but stopped just before jumping. He looked towards me then down as if comparing which is worse. He chooses me, Yaaa! Is what’s down scarier than me?That's  unacceptable. I tried to look down to check what it was, and got pulled before I could.

“We need another route to escape.”

That caught my interest. We? 

“Who are you escaping from? Is it the new villain that you found today? He can’t be that-”

“Which villain? I just wanna go home”, he groaned.

“And I wanna go to the moon. It ain’t happening, especially with me around now. Time to accept that.”

“Will see”., he scoffed. Did he just?... wow! Looks like I went too easy on him. He ran downstairs and pulled me along. He stopped just before exiting the building.

“Why did you stop?”, I questioned. He put his finger on my lips.

“The drones are outside”. I grabbed his hand and removed his finger.

“You could have said so”.  I took out my taser gun and zapped all the drones.

“What the hell? I didn’t ask you to destroy it”.
