Marinette walked through the doors of the Grand Paris, greeted by the sound of chatter and music. As she had expected the grand hall was already filled to the brim with people all wearing their prettiest clothes and masks covering their face. Chloe had really done her best to make it as great as possible and everyone could see that. She had to be honest. If you wanted a party that would succeed you should let Chloe do the work because she would make it the best ever. Marinette didn't want to know how many times the layout had been changed, but how it was now was simply perfect.

The theme looked pretty simple. Most of the decorations were either white or black, and with that all the colours of the dresses stood out even more. A more normal pop song was blasted around the room, as some people while dancing, others were talking and yet others were just walking around looking rather lost. Now Marinette felt like that too. Lost. She could still tell Alya she had arrived because she didn't want to miss this, but what would she do then? Just hang around her and Nino? No, no she didn't want to be a burden to them. It also looked like everyone else she knew was occupied with something, so that wasn't an option either.

Well Marinette, you got this, she thought. With a deep breath she walked into the crowd. Like she had expected she wasn't the only ladybug around, which was great because then no one would expect a thing, or that's what she thought.

'Ladybug?' A familiar voice said.

Marinette directly turned around, trying to spot the person who had called her. 'What? What's with ladybug? Me? Her? Haha funny,' she said, wide eyed until a boy, dressed in a well-made black suit walked over to her. He was wearing a matching black mask too, thought it was rather poorly made if you asked her. He was just a little taller than her, had green eyes and messy blonde hair.

'Is it really not you? Oh well you at least very much look like Ladybug. It's me, uhm, Cat Noir.

Yes Cat Noir,' the boy said, leaning against the wall.

Well, let's just say that explained the incredibly poorly made mask. Though she also didn't really expected to see him here, not tonight at least without an akuma attack happening. He did wear a very good suit tho, that was quite interesting.

'I didn't expect to see you here, kitty. What brought you here? A friend?' Marinette asked.

She really shouldn't have asked that question, because what if he did know someone from her class it would bring their identities in danger. Well done Marinette.

'Oh... oh yes, yes of course I do. You know me. The charming Cat Noir has friends everywhere. No one is able to resist someone as incredibly amazing as me of course.'

'And who would this person be, who you're friends with?' Marinette could really slap herself for asking that. She shouldn't have asked the first question, let alone the second. Though Cat did look rather unlike himself after she asked that.

'Well, well, milady, looks like someone is curious. Or is she jealous?' Cat asked with a stupid grin on his face

'What? Of course I'm not jealous! I just wanted to know who you knew, as we clearly have mutual contacts. But just forget it. We shouldn't know each other's identities at all.'

'Well... the person... who invited me... was... Adrien. Yes Adrien asked if I wanted to come. Marinette asked him but as he couldn't come he asked if I wanted to go in his place,' Cat answered, looking rather sure of himself

So, Cat really did know Adrien, but she never asked Adrien to come. She, Alya and Nino asked him together and to be honest Alya and Nino did more than her. So or Cat was a really good liar, or Adrien actually knew Cat and had specifically mentioned her, but that didn't make sense either. Oh well, she would just let it slip for now. She shouldn't be so curious to begin with.

'It is fun to see you in something different then your suit. Looks rather good on you, though I suppose not particularly useful for fighting huh?' Marinette said, switching the topic.

Cat grinned. 'Guess it is very useful being friends with the son of a fashion designer. But thank you, milady. You look perfectly fine too. Even more beautiful than normally, which already is incredibly fine.'

Marinette couldn't help but blush a little. Now it was hard to say where her feelings were. She still had an incredibly big crush on Adrien, though she tried to tell herself it was gone. He would never see her as more than just a friend so she'd better just try to move on and be open for other possible candidates. That being said she had started to consider Cat as someone she could possibly see herself with. He had shown more than enough times that he cared about her, was funny to some extent and she could rely on him, but then again they had their identities to keep a secret. Honestly being Ladybug would be a lot easier if there weren't any friends or feelings.

'Well thank you, Kitty. I quite like it too actually,' she answered with a smile.

'Good to see you're confident, Bugaboo.'

The music started to change to a slower song. It didn't take long for Marinette to recognise the song. It was the song she had danced to with Adrien a couple of times now. Once here, in this same room, and once in New York in the moonlight. Well this didn't help with getting over him.

'Milady?' Cat Noir asked, his eyebrow raised and hand held towards her. 'May I ask this dance from you?'

Hi everyone!

In this fic Chloe and Marinette have become friends, because I think they would honestly be really powerful together and just yes.

Not that it will probably be really neccesairy to know but thought it was a nice little extra :)
