Marinette

I don't know how long I've been sitting on the banks of the Seine for. I came out here to think, try and get my head straight. I think I might be getting close to it.

Thinking about Luka and Viperion.. they're both something the other isn't. Luka is steady, and caring, and genuine, but he's nothing but a human, and being with him would put him in danger.
Viperion on the other hand, is intelligent, strong, kind, but I could only ever be with him while he's masked.

I groan and bury my face in my hands.
"Tikki, why does love have to be so hard?"
Tikki's head pokes out of my clutch. "It's only hard because you're overthinking it Marinette! Think of all the times you've felt happy and safe with Luka, they were all times you weren't worrying over whether or not you loved him. The moment you stop worrying, it becomes easy."
"But what about Viperion?"
Tikki sighs. "Do you really want to be with someone You can't share everything with? With Luka you're hiding one thing, with Viperion, you're hiding everything."
"But.. my being Ladybug puts Luka in danger." I argue.
Tikki just flies up and puts her tiny hand-things over my mouth. "And that's why your identity is a secret! As long as no one finds out you're ladybug, Marinette's boyfriend means nothing to Hawk Moth."
I blink at her, just waiting for her to move away from my mouth before I speak. "I guess you're right." I say once she does. "I've never thought of it like that."
Tikki giggles. "So what are you going to do about it?"
I smile at her and stand up. "I'm gonna go tell him!"

I'm panting by the time I reach the Liberty. And have to pause to catch my breath before walking onto the deck.
"Luka?" I call, instinctively fidgeting with my fingers as my nerves settle in.
Anarka pokes her head out of the Captain's cabin. "Marinette, lovely to see ya. You're lookin' for Luka are ya?"
I giggle, Captain Anarka always manages to make me smile. "Yes Ma'am- I mean, Captain. D'you know where he is?"
"Probably in his cabin." She smiles and just goes back to whatever she was doing.

Sometimes I'm in awe of how Anarka lives her life. She's carefree, happy, and manages to love and care for her children. The only time she's ever been akumatized was while defending us. Plus she just has an innate understanding of people's feelings.
I'm pretty sure she's known about my feelings for Luka almost since we met, even before I knew about them.

Soon though, I find myself in front of Luka's cabin. I take a deep breath and knock on the door, fidgeting in place as I wait for him to open it.

Luka opens his door, looking slightly confused. I guess neither Juleka or Anarka knock. I give a little smile and wave, too nervous to speak.
He smiles. "Hey Marinette. What are you doing here?"
"I umm- I wanted to talk to you." I manage, how I didn't stutter I have no idea.
He smiles and lets me into his cabin, sitting on his bed next to his guitar. I look around curiously despite the fact that I'd been in his room only a few days ago, as Ladybug.
"So what's on your mind?" Luka asks, having already picked up his guitar again.
I sit next to him, taking a second to compose myself. "I- I love.. I love your music!" I blurt out. "It's always so calming and beautiful, maybe you could play it at my wedding one day!" I blush and internally groan. Great job Marinette, you've messed it up again.
Luka just laughs. "Maybe. It'd depend on who you're marrying though."
"Huh?" I look up at him, knowing my face is beet red.
He just gives a gentle smile and puts a hand on my shoulder. "A lot can happen between now and when you get married Marinette."
I sigh and shrug. "I guess so."
