45 minutes later...
"Atsushiiii, where are you?"
Dazai called out to the depths of his apartment.
I just left to go to the bathroom, and now he's gone. Did he head home perhaps?
Looking down at the floor, Dazai did a double take. He drank often, so he had gotten a resistance to liquor. Even with this, he could tell he was a little tipsy.
The tall man stumbled about the house, looking for the were-tiger. Bright eyes shone atop a shelf, where the young Atsushi was balancing his weight to crouch on. From this angle, he could see the top of Dazai's brown hair atop his head. Glaring down at him, he suddenly leaped on top of the other guy.
Dazai screeched like a young girl as he was tackled to the ground. He wasn't going to even ask how he somehow got up there. He saw something silver in Atsushi's hand, and when he had a close inspection, he saw that he was handling a knife.
"T-this is payback from earlier!"
Atsushi stumbled out.
Dazai started laughing. This only made Atsushi more mad, but he couldn't help but laugh. Did he really thing he looked intimidating right now? He couldn't even see straight.
"Ohhhh no! Whatever shall I do! It's not like I can just-"
In one swift motion, Dazai stood up super quickly and was dangling Atsushi by the back of his collar, almost like a mother cat holds her young.
Frustrated, Atsushi swung the knife at the ghosts in the air, only to realize he wasn't getting anywhere because he was swinging in the totally opposite direction as Dazai.
Atsushi growled.
"You always have to be the one to sneak up on me... I just wanna-"
Atsushi flailed his arms and the knife flew from his fingers.
"I-"
Dazai jumped backward quickly as the knife almost went directly into his foot. His light brown eyes glared at Atsushi who was glaring back.
"C-can I have more liquor, Dazai?"
That was a sudden change of topic, but it was fine, because... An idea popped into the crazy man's head faster than the speed of light.
Setting Atsushi down on the couch, he lightly placed his legs on the arm of the sofa.
"Of course, just give me a minute, okay?"
Atsushi nodded as Dazai headed towards the kitchen.
Making sure Atsushi was out of his line of sight, he slowly went over to the sink where their plates sat in water from their dinner. A evil smirk came across Dazai's face as he filled a shot glass with the dirty water.
Stepping out of the kitchen and walking into his dim front room, he strode over to the young boy on the couch who was falling asleep.
"ATSUSHI!"
Atsushi jolted awake with a scared look in his eyes. Dazai said quietly and sweetly, "I brought you your drink," with a smile on his face.
Atsushi glared at Dazai. This man could have two types of smiles. The good wholeheartedly one, or the evil villain one. This smile was defiantly the latter but he shrugged it off. Grabbing the drink out of the bandaged arms of the man, he brought the small glass cup up to his mouth. And in one go, he drank it.
Dazai's mouth fell agape as he stared at Atsushi- had he seriously not noticed that it was dirty and soapy sink water?
"I- uh... okay-"
Atsushi looked at Dazai confused.
"Is s-something wrong?"
"...nope, nothing at all."
Dazai took a seat next to Atsushi on the couch and put his feet up on the coffee table. Looking over, Atsushi stared into Dazai's soul, attempting to find at least a hint of emotion in his eyes.
The world started to go blurry, and slowly Atsushi drifted off to sleep. He had been falling asleep ever since he got drunk, albeit his sudden strange bursts of energy. His head rested on Dazai's shoulder, who looked at him surprised. Looks like he was actually going to have a good nights rest for once.
"I guess he isn't going home tonight..."
Dazai just looked up at the ceiling, and put his own head on the back of the couch. Looking at the clock, it read 1:34 a.m.
Dazai closed his eyes and just relaxed. He figured that he didn't want to move and wake Atsushi, for he would be upset and may try to stab him again. Even though he was uncomfortable with his legs and arms in such a strange position, he decided that he wasn't going to move as he slowly drifted further and further into unconsciousness. Finally, he could get some sleep.
-
The sun shone through the windows and down onto Atsushi's face, more importantly its rays attacked his eyes, forcing him to open them. His head hurt tremendously, and he felt a little nauseous. He was resting on something, or someone. His tired eyes looked up to find Dazai peacefully sleeping.
Feeling embarrassed but not wanting to get up yet, he slowly placed his head back into Dazai's shoulder and just sat there. He was too awkward and didn't want to wake him, so he just decided to let Dazai wake up first.
Breathing a sigh of relief to try against the headache, he realized that this wasn't so bad.
