Chapter One

Nora's POV

Standing there and facing them was killing me. Standing there and watching the loves of my lives with other women was killing me. Feeling more complete than I have in years, but still missing something. I stood angrily as the man I called father, taunt the ones facing us. Trying to cause a fight that would end in many deaths.

"Aro, you can see there's no law broken here." Carlisle Cullen spoke, a man I used to consider family. I already knew where this was going, I've seen Aro do this before. He's going to use any excuse he can to destroy the Cullen family.

"Agreed, but does it then follow that there is no danger." Aro spoke, knowing the answer to this. He has witnessed this before. A vampire, human hybrid. It was bothering me how he was acting, but maybe because my loves' lives were on the life, as was my own. I knew that no matter the outcome, my life and the three standing behind me would at least be alive. I hope.

"Is he really doing this right now?" Dale whispered to me. I slightly turned my head and gave him a look to shut up, which he did.

"For the first time in our history, Humans pose a threat to our kind." He turned and faced back towards us. His eyes locked on mine and I felt him sending an apology my way before looking at his brother, Caius and Marcus. I listened to him speak, holding in a scoff and an eyeroll for most of his speech.

"Alice." I heard Edward Cullen, the disease that should have died in his human life. When I say die, I mean buried in the ground. Everyone turned to look at the two approaching vampires. If my heart still beat, it would have skipped a beat. The missing piece to the puzzle is here.

"My dear, dear Alice. I'm so glad to see you here!" Aro said with much excitement, making me roll my eyes. I'm sure Jasper felt the mixed emotions rolling off of me, because he scanned his eyes around the crowd trying to pinpoint the source. While most people were feeling anger and fear. I felt that plus happiness, lust, and some other emotions.

I had to hold in the growl that bulit in my chest when Demetri thought it would be a good idea to smack the smirk off of Jasper. Julian grabbed my arm to stop me from walking forward. At his touch his voice entered my head, That would not be a good idea Mother, and you know it.

Aro and Alice stood there in front of the group and I closed my eyes to concentrate on what happening in his head.

When she kicked him in the air, everyone froze. My boys stiffened behind me. This is not going to turn out good. Aro landed back on his feet and ordered his guard to take Alice away. I watched as Aro decapitated Carlisle, it was hard for me to watch. I knew I shouldn't have come. I watched as The Cullens and their allies ran towards us. Aro lifted his hands to let his minions know to go attack. I felt my boys start to move forward.

"You will not get involved." I hissed at them. I will not let anything happen to them. They are the only reason why I bother with my undead life anymore.

I notice Jane using her power on Jasper and before I could do anything, he was decapitated. His eyes locked to mine seconds before he died. I shook in anger. I was going to make Jane pay with her life. I turned to my sons.

"Do not get involved, unless you are being attacked." They responded to my demand with a nod. I stalked toward Demetri and Felix, they were closer to me than Jane was. Felix's eyes widened in fear when he noticed my expression. I would hate to kill him, but he participated in the murder of my mate.

"Wait Nora. Wait!" Felix said before I ripped off his head. I turned to where Demetri stood but he fled. Smart vampire. I turned to see him fighting the disgrace, seeing as I wanted them both dead I'll let them fight it out. A couple vampires from both sides came at me, but I deflected them quickly.

A scream from Dale, stopped me in my tracks. A wolf was facing off with him and managed to get on top. His brothers were fighting two vampires also. Patrick got distracted from his brothers screams and lost focus in his duel. It happened so quick, the life in Patrick's eyes faded, as did the light in Dale's. It was about the same time as Aro's head was set on fire.

I was brought back to the life of reality. Venom tears filled my eyes, but I hid them well. I would never be able to get the image of two of my children dead out of my head. I wanted nothing more than to hold them close and make sure they never left my sight, but I had to still stay focused on the task at hand.

"Nora?" Edward whispered in question. I'm sure because of his power and Alice's they both knew I was here now. Edward's eyes traveled to mine, and I shivered in disgust. A ghost of a smirk appeared on his face.

'Fuck You.' My forced my thought in his head. His smirk became stronger.

'You already have.' He thought but I know it wasn't meant for my ears, well brain to be precise. I wanted his head on a plate, Patrick grabbed my arm, stopping me from attacking that Son of a Bitch. My eyes softened as I looked at his green eyes. The image of the life fading from his eyes entered my head. Oh, my baby boy. So lost in thought I barely noticed that we were leaving. This is going to haunt me for a while.
