Chapter Seven

Emmett's POV

"Jasper, she's alive." I said, answering the phone. I still stared at the door Nora walked out of.

"She is?" Jasper asked, relief filled his tone.

"She is, and I can't believe she's actually here." I said.

"How does she seem? Is she okay?" He asked.

"She's incredibly hurt, man. You need to get here. We need to fix this." Peter said. I completely agreed with him. We have to make this right with her. I need Nora in my life. These years have been miserable without her.

"I can't." He said, "What about Alice?"

"Fuck Alice, man! Your mate is here, your true mate. Your family is here." Peter said angrily. He couldn't believe his best friend could be so stupid.

"But Alice was there for me when Nora broke my heart." Jasper argued back.

"But we weren't there when we broke hers." I responded back. I knew Jasper regretted that day as much as I did. We all felt that guilt and regret. He's scared and he's using Alice as an excuse.

"Jasper, come on. Don't do this." Peter said.

"I can't." Jasper said and hung up the phone. I sighed deeply and looked toward Peter. He was staring at the door in sorrow. I looked up to see Nora standing there.

"Nora-" I started but she cut me off.

"No, he's happy." She said, clearing her throat, trying to hide her emotions, "If he's happy with her, I'm not going to ruin that."

"Darlin'" Peter said, but Nora just shook her head and walked back out of the room. I felt my heart ache as she walked away.

"What are we gonna do?" I asked Peter. I just wanted my mate back. I wanted to be able to touch her and love her again. To smell her scent on my skin and all times.

"Tell her how you feel." A voice came from the door. It was the other male with Nora.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"Julian." He responds, "Look, my mom is hurt. You have no clue what she's been through since you left her. She tries to hide it from us, but she can't really hide it from me. She's hurting all of the time. She misses you guys."

"Your mom?" Peter asked.

"My father is Jasper. I am an empath but unlike him, I can't control emotion. I can still feel them and know why they feel like they do. I can feel that you two love her and regret everything. Let her know that." He said and walked away. Peter and I looked at each other. Jasper has a kid too? Were they all her children and if so, who was the father of the girl?

"So, do one of us have a daughter?" I asked.

"No. Remember, Dale said I only have one. Plus something is telling me Nora is hiding something from us." Paul said. I forgot, his talent of knowing stuff. We decided to go find Nora, following her scent led us to the throne room.

"Aro, no!" Nora said pleadingly. "Just send them back home! Don't do this!"

"Do not speak to your father that way." Aro said, I heard Nora sigh in defeat. "We will be throwing a ball and inviting the Cullen coven and friend's. Show them there's no hard feelings."

"But-" Nora started but Aro cut her off.

"No buts. Now go find your mates and relay the message." Aro said and we heard Nora walking in our direction.

"I'm assuming you heard." She said and we nodded. She made a move to walk past us, but I grabbed her arm.

"We have to ask you a question." I said. I tried to think of a good way to say this.

"Whose the girl's father?" Peter spat out, showing how much he didn't have a filter. Of course, I should be used to it by now.

"None of your concern. She is my daughter and that is the end of it." Nora said and walked past us swiftly. We looked at each other confused.

"Look, I don't know about you, but I'm filthy. I'm headed back to Nora's room to take a shower. You can call The Cullen's and let them know about the ball." Peter said, heading back to the room our mate was occupying. I pulled out my phone and dialed Carlisle.

"Emmett son, Jasper informed us you were in Volterra safely. Nora is there?" He asked, answering the phone.

"Yeah Pop, She's here." I said with a sigh.

"What's wrong?" He asked.

"Nothing, it's just There's a lot going on. Anyway, that's not why I called."

"What's going on?" He asked

"The Volturi is throwing a ball. They wanted to invite us and our allies. To show there was no hard feelings." I told the man who in all intents and purposes was my father.

"I see," He said, knowing full and well how seriously the Volturi took this ball. If you were invited, you were expected to go. It would be seen as disrespectful. It would piss them off, and you don't want to piss the Volturi off. "When is this ball?"

"I'm not exactly sure yet. I will ask Nora and text you the details." I told him. We bid farewell and got off of the phone. I headed back toward's Nora's room. When I arrived, the door was shut. No noise was coming from it, knowing Peter was in there, I opened the door and headed in. I was greeted by the sight of Nora half dressed, straddled on top of Peter's body.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" I asked, smirking and shutting the door behind me.
