My landing at the Incheon airport was still a dream. I still cannot deter the fact that I finally
reached my dream destination. The place where I had dreaded to be, the dream destination of every pop-drama lover; Seoul. The unfamiliarity of the place still brings within me a small feeling of belonging. That I was destined to be here the dream of many was actualized and had become my reality.I walked out of the airport and hailed a taxi. At that very moment, I understood all those nights
of binging k drama and the duo lingo classes had paid off pretty well. I showed my apartment address to the middle-aged driver and greeted him. The man offered to help me to take in my luggage, but me being me acted all stubborn and insisted to keep in my heavy luggage all by myself, which I finished successfullyIt was then that I noticed a sudden rush of crying and screaming girls along with a dozen of
other men and women with cameras moving near the arrival terminal. I asked my kind driver what was all the commotion about. He said, "Bangtan had returned after their world tour, so the fans are here to welcome them". It was right at that moment the five-year-old army arose in me. I shrieked, making my old companion surprised. I pleaded, " Ajushiiiiiiiii, I will come right back after getting a glimpse of them. Please can you wait for a bit?" I tried really hard to pursue him but all was in vain. He said," Miss I really wanted to, but I can't it can cause a hustle here since we are instructed to leave as soon as we pick up our client, I am sorry. So please get in". I got in, not intending to cause trouble for him. And driver Ajusshi rode off the airport.I looked out through my small window, my eyes glistening with the curiosity and
excitement of a five-year-old. As said earlier my present still felt like a beautiful dream,
but I decided to snap out of the filmy drama that kept going on in my mind. I was confident in my speaking so I decided to strike off a small conversation with the driver Ajushii. "Ajushii how long will it take to reach". He replied," It will take an hour or so miss if we are lucky enough to go without traffic. By the way, the place you choose is certainly a good neighborhood. Friendly and decent with a fair rent. I felt relieved after Ajushii's statement. I answered," I have a friend here Ajushii, she helped to get me one." The whole 'apartment hunt' hustle was done with the help of my friend Youjin who lives here in Seoul. Thanks to Twitter I found her there, my fellow army chingu. Even with the distance, we connected ourselves through video calls and tweets. She is older than me and just recently moved out with her boyfriend. Yup, we were really close; I always wanted to have an elder sister in my life and she had always been one for me. We had known for four and half years now. She was actually coming to get me but she got some urgent work at her company that she couldn't do. I texted her that I got in a taxi and is on my way to start the trail.I decided to take a glimpse of the busy streets as we passed by. I decided to embrace the city that is going to be my home for the next 5 months. The city I longed to get to as a teen. The city of my teenage dreams.
