Once Again: hua cheng x fem reader

The second half of this chapter and after will all be my own story plot! Enjoy! :)

"You were the ones who started the sandstorm" i said

"Greetings to the royal princess" the 2 women bowed and greeted

"Y/n!"

I turned around and see xie lian running towards me.

"Lian gege, are you alright?!"

"I'm fine, i was worried sick about you guys"

Nan feng appeared from behind the 2 heavely officers, all bruised and beaten up.

"Ah! Nan feng, what happened? Are you alright?"

"I'm fine, i just got beaten up by them" he said and pointed at the heaven officers

"How were we suppose to know?! You were all mysterious, i thought you were a spy!"

I grabbed their attention

"Sorry about earlier, your highnesses. I had to prevent you from going any further due to precautions"

"That's alright. I suppose you heard all the ruckus about the banyue kingdom and general pei jr"

"Yes, we have. Under the emperor's orders, we've also come to take him away along with ke mo to seek trial"

"What about banyue?"

"She is free to stay since she is innocent from this matter"

Seeing banyue was still unconscious, xie lian summons her into a clay pot.

"We must get going, your highnesses. Please be careful. Farewell"

They bowed and disappeared into the sandstorm.

"Y/n, hand me the banyue fern. I'll go deliver this to the poisoned villagers." Xie lian requested

I handed him the fern and xie lian hugged me.

"After this, I'll be going back to the heavens after. Take care of yourself"

I nodded and xie lian walks over to san lang.

He leans over and whispers in his ear,

"I'm entrusting y/n to you. I'm sure she already knows your true identity"

San lang nods

"Trust me, I'll protect her with my life"

Xie lian and the 2 juniors say their final farewells and disappeared into the teleportation spell.

"Let's head back to the cabin"

I said and started walking back but a hand grabs my wrist, pulls me back and into their chest.

"San lang? What's wrong? Are you injured?"

"...i have something that I've been keeping from you for a while now"

"What is it?"

San lang hesitates for a second

"...my real name isn't actually san lang, it's—"

"Hua cheng" i finished his sentence

Hua cheng reverts his eyes to the floor in guilt

"Sorry that i didn't tell you earlier, I didn't want you to avoid me and hate—"

Hua cheng stops his rambling when he felt my hand cup his cheek.

"A'cheng, I've known for a while now. I could never hate you."

"A'cheng?" He said in confusion

Hua cheng was stunned. His name coming out of people's mouth were filled with hate but his name coming out of your mouth were filled with warmth, kindness and love

"When did you start suspecting my identity?"

"Since we first met. Xie lian was also suspicious as well. But it was confirmed when i saw the corpses at the bottom of the pit"

Hua cheng sheepishly scratched his cheek

"You're not afraid of me? You don't hate me for the things I've done and the rumors that you've heard?"

"What's there to be afraid of? You're a harmless cinnamon bun. I love you too much to hate you"

"You love me? Don't kid around " a'cheng says

"What's wrong with loving you? It's against the rules? People are gonna talk? Then they can bring it on. That's not going to stop me from loving you"

I cupped his cheeks and kiss him lightly on his forehead.

Hua cheng was shocked. Was this a dream?

"I didn't think that you would love me back. I love you too"

a'cheng replies and brings out a necklace with a ring on it.

"What's this? It's so beautiful"

"These are my ashes. It determines the life and death of a ghost. I have engraved it into this diamond ring and now I'm giving this to you"

"No you can't give this to me. This is too important"

"That's why I'm giving it to you"

Hua cheng brushes my hair out of my face and cups my cheek

"Here, let me help you put it on"

Hua cheng puts the necklace around my neck and hugs me from behind

"Is this a dream?" Hua cheng sighed contently

I giggled

"It's getting late, we should get back" i said

I grab hua cheng's hand and we walk into the teleportation spell together
